Hi everyone. :) I've been a member here almost forever, but I'm mostly a lurker. We're going to Disney World for the 3rd time as a family at the end of the month :thumbsup2 , and I think it is about time to do a Disboard trip report.

Pre-Trip Report 2011

Cast:

Me - 44/Certified Disney Junkie and planner
Stef P - 44/Certified Disney Junkie but not really a planner
KK - 13/Junkie Jr. - Mini Me. Also known as our Daughter

Walt Disney World May 30 - June 5, 2011 ASMovies Preferred Room
7 Day Hoppers with Water Parks Fun & More

The last time we went, in June 2008, we stayed at ASSports with 8 day Hoppers. Our 2nd day there my Mom called and said that my Step Dad had suffered a heart attack. After much discussion we decided to stay and not tell our daughter until we were on our way back. We ended up telling her during the trip, simply because she knew something was wrong. We had a great time, and KK rode a lot more than she did during our August 2007 trip, but it definitely put a different spin on a Disney trip. Hopefully, real life won't interfere on this trip. On with the show. :3dglasses

The plan so far:

Fri - 5/27: Leave home at 4pm when my wife gets off work. Drive to Pensacola, Fl and spend the night. Any suggestions for hotel/motels on I-10?

Sat - 5/28: Drive to Rockledge, Fl to spend time with some old friends.

Mon - 5/30: Memorial Day. Leave Rockledge EARLY, arrive at ASMovies, and check in. The room probably won’t be ready, but we’ll have our KTTW cards so we can head to Typhoon Lagoon, and arrive before opening. We’ll stay at TL for a few hours, go eat lunch, and see if our room is ready. After resting, it’s on to HS for Star Tours 2 and whatever else we can fit in during evening EMH.

Tue - 5/31: MK morning EMH and stay as long as we can take the crowds. Touring Plans is predicting this to be the busiest day of the week. After resting in the afternoon, we’ll do the evening at Epcot.

Wed - 6/1: AK at opening and stay until we finish touring the park. Festival of the Lion King is a must do. We’ve never seen it. DTD for the evening

Thu - 6/2: Epcot All Day. We LOVE Epcot

Fri - 6/3: MK All Day

Sat - 6/4: HS all day for Star Wars Weekends. I’m wearing my SWW T-shirt as I type this. Yes, I’m a hopeless geek. ;)

Sun - 6/5: Epcot morning/MK evening EMH

Mon - 6/6: Drive home.

We’re debating the QS dining plan. We’ve done the basic Dining plan and we enjoyed it, but didn’t like planning our entire trip around restaurants. The QS plan is more our speed. We’ll probably eat a sit down meal or two offsite, to offset all the CS food.

As always, plans are subject to change. I’ll update in the event of a change.

Peace, Love and Mickey Mouse,
Barry

Update time - We are doing the QSDP. We're driving and I'm trying not to worry about the flooding in La. Once we get past the Achafalaya Basin Bridge and into Baton Rouge, I think we'll be okay. We're leaving Memorial Day weekend, so I've considered going down Hwy. 27 from Tallahassee to get away from I 10, but I don't know. Any opinions on that?
