Seeing A&E without FP but at BBB in morning?

I agree and people here are so quick to hop onto their high horse about very minor issues. People love to chastise people and discuss what they would never do or what you aren't allowed to do(in most cases it is just b/c they want to sway people from doing it not that it isn't actually allowed). I also will say that we had FP for this m&g before Anna and Elsa were there and had people get out of line in the FP line(it was a little long for a FP) they left and came back as we rounded to meet the characters and our party of 13 had to move...it didn't bother me at all. It was two people it is no big deal to step to the side the line is plenty wide. Most ride lines are wide enough that we could put our bags down and get things out with a child standing next to me. Very few lines are so tight that someone can't easily pass you. Some might not feel it is right, but that doesn't mean it is wrong either. The CM's allow it the majority of the time and again it does no harm to try.

Are you ok with people cutting you in line at the BTMR? How about the grocery store, DMV, mall, a concert or the movies? What if it was a group of 13 getting ahead of you adding another 20m to your wait? And what about the poor people 8 groups back who get another hour added cause of jumpers?

It is plain rude for folks to think they don't have to wait in line with everybody else. If you don't want to wait, get a FP+, otherwise get (and stay) in line. For a super duper long line, getting a snack or using the restroom is acceptable. Touring Adventureland with a sacrificial lamb in line isn't.

If the entire party had to wait in the line, I have a feeling the long wait would take care of itself.

The advice given to the original poster is that they likely won't make it out of BBB in time to be at the front of the A&E line. If they sent the DH out and cut the long RD line they have a shot, but I would be too mortified to do that.

Grocery store, often I have been in line when a teen or another party runs up with bread or milk to add to the person checking outs order, makes zero difference to me. I mean I am pretty laid back and unless there is a huge group of teens or adults walking through(5+) no I wouldn't care, but that is not what OP is asking so don't get the comparison to extreme situations that don't apply here. She wants her DH to get in line while she finishes up at BBB and will most likely come along 15-30 minutes later with just her and her child. No biggie IMO.

ETA: that especially in the case of a M&G it isn't going to change your wait(unless we want to throw in one of those extreme hypotheticals where 30 people come pushing by) Taking the picture of 1 vs 3 isn't going to matter. Either way they will take a few poses and move on to the next.

Both. The line is inside since PFH is an inside venue, but the line spills out of the building as well.

But like I posted before we let people pass us in line in this same venue and it was no disruption at all the line is plenty wide even right up until right before you meet with them. We were easily standing 2-3 wide(kids and 1 adult) so just sliding over for a second while they pass is no big deal unless you personally want to make it one.

I'm not disputing anything, just merely pointing out at the queue is mostly indoors, and yes it's wide enough to allow others to pass. Whether or not a party of 10 (happened to us) should be allowed to catch up to their placeholder is another ballgame.

I know you weren't, but others were or have in similar threads. I agree that a party of 10 is thoughtless. To me it is common courtesy/common sense like anything. 2 or 3 people(I can't see making small children wait in that line) is IMO fine.

Personally, I cannot imagine trying to move past crowds like this and on top of the hassle, feeling like a total jerk. I think if it were me, and we were there long enough, I'd do BBB and either keep checking wait times all day to see if they ever dropped to an acceptable level or just plan on RD another morning. I think thats much more fair and far less stressful. JMHO.

My hypotheticals were extreme on purpose - you're correct, adding a couple of items in the grocery store isn't of much consequence. One person holding 10 seats in a theater for a midnight showing of a new movie is. In any event, the group we're talking about is likely small enough where it doesn't matter.

IMHO (worthless as it may be) setting the precedent that the whole group doesn't have to wait in line is a very slippery slope. There are already methods of securing a reservation to circumvent the line (FP+ or DAS or even Child Swap for rides). Other than that, everybody in the group should wait...getting a snack or something is fine if the majority of the group stays, but allowing folks to spend 1-3 productive hours in the park touring while another group doesn't because they're all waiting is kind of a jerk move.

Depending on where you are in line, 30 people may get in front of you, be it 1 group of 30 or 10 groups of 3, it still adds up. Again, this would not be tolerated on headliners such as TSMM, 7DMT, SM, etc. (could you imagine?)

(BTW, it drives me absolutely NUTS when my DW brings more stuff to add to the cart at the grocery store when I'm in line/checking out...and its usually the stuff I skip cause its unhealthy and I wanna fit on 7DMT!)

Exactly, and that's why I asked the question about what the queue looked like.

If I were OP, I would not only want to know if what she's proposing were possible, but also what I would be up against if I were to try it.

Some people did push past us in a similar Toontown line. Everyone was perturbed by it. I don't know if they finally made it up to their ultimate spot, or if they really had people waiting up ahead for them. I kind of doubted it, but was not in a mood for a fight (but I remember it all these years later so it must have really bugged me!). All it takes is one person to say, "No, you can't go in front of me."

I would not personally do this if I were OP. I'm sure some people do it all day long, but it would be really uncomfortable for me to have to push past all those people.

This is something my DW and I did all the time up until FP+ came along, now i have FP's for m&g's.

For example when Rapunzel and Flynn were on the side of the castle and the wait wsa 3 hours plus, i would wait in line and the DW and DD would do other stuff. The line was against the wall and outside Single file when they re joined me there was no hassle. But seeing these pics of these crowds it does not seem like its a viable option which is why at 60 days i grabbed my FP+ for A&E

What is the difference if it is 15+ minutes to get a snack vs 15+ minutes to finish at bbb? Either way they are having to walk through the line.

I will say that we witnessed this on several rides...even headliners on our last trip. It was never more than a few people and IMO never a big deal. I personally didn't do it, but also would never wait in a line more than 20-30 minutes long. We were lucky none of our little people needed an emergency bathroom break.
