Couldn't get FP+ for Anna and Elsa, but Being that we have a 8:30 Ressie at BBB, is it safe to say we will be one of the first on the standby line if I send my DH?

Doubtful. With an 8:30 BBB appointment I wouldn't expect to be out any earlier than 9:30.

Not even close. You won't be done with BBB before rope drop and there are huge crowds that CMs walk directly to PFH each morning. The standby time usually jumps to at least 90-120 minutes in the first 20 minutes the park is open.

No, I was going to have my DH go in line right when they open that section. Being that we are at BBB, we should be ahead of the incoming crowds.

Have him get in line and see what happens. It doesn't hurt. If he is getting close and you aren't done he can let a group in front of him.

There have been anecdotal reports of CMs not allowing people in line unless the entire group is present. Not sure if anyone confirmed if this is absolutely true, but something to consider.

If you don't have another plan, then plan on showing up at the gates as if your appointment is at 8 instead of 8:30. Be there by 7:30. I know at the restaurants, they tend to seat in the order you arrive that early. That might happen at BBB too and you might find yourself done sooner than you think.

Yes, I just figured there must be others that have done/are doing this with all A&E FP+ gone. It seems to be the best way to get the closest to being one doc the first since we're already in the park. Just like when you have an early morning breakfast Ressie and get to be one of the first at the rope to a certain section of MK.

They allowed it when they were in Epcot so I think he will be fine. I also wasn't in BBB that long. She was already dressed and ready to go(we didn't pick out and outfit there b/c she didn't want to wear a princess costume) so it was closer to a half hour to finish her makeover. So if you have already have her in her dress that will help. We had CRT after and I remember waiting a bit to be sat because we made our reservation for an hour after BBB.

But you won't be out of BBB until well after the crowd has arrived and the CM isn't going to allow your DH to wait at the head of the line until you arrive.

Reports of them not letting people hold spots in line have been in recent weeks, since the move. Perhaps that is because the line is harder to join than the almost entirely outdoor line at Epcot.

I've never heard of this? My friend was there last week and her DH waited in line 3 hours while they did other attractions and then met him. Are there really young children waiting in line hours?

You are going to hear yes and no. So the only way you will know for sure is to try and see what happens. The waits have been long and many are doing other things with their young children and coming back, but then there will be others who say no they wouldn't let you. It will depend on that day/time and who is there. Give it a try...if they won't let him you are no worse off than if you didn't try.

Also, it seems as though the lines die down later in the day, so you might have better luck trying then.

I don't really understand the logistics. Your DH MAY get to the line first or very early, but what good will it do when you and the kids are not with him? Not sure if they will just allow him to keep allowing one group of people ahead of him at a time until you get there. Is that what you are counting on? That may or may not work. If he is willing to try, anything is worth a shot.

We were unable to get FPs for our trip a few weeks ago, and I had hoped we could get in line after our 8:00 BBB ressie. We had four girls getting hair and makeup done and we didn't get done until just before 9. By the time we checked out I saw a rush of people pass. My sister went to check the time and it already was 3 hours!! We just said forget it and did the photo session at Castle Couture which turned out really cute. I couldn't believe how fast the line filled up!

Joining someone in that line is a real hassle. For the people trying to get 'up' to the other person and for everyone that they pass. We had people pass us in the Cinderella / Rapunzel line - to join someone - folks were not especially happy about it.

In Epcot it was a whole different ballgame - the line was outside and the CMs actively said it was OK to leave one person in line. In MK the line is much more confined and it is difficult to join someone.

If FP is gone then you can't create your own FP of sorts. Why are your kiddos so special that they shouldn't wait like everyone else? Because that's what you are saying to every little girl who you push past in the line. Either wait your turn or drop BBB and get there for rope drop. I seriously cannot see a CM just ushering you past the hundreds of people waiting in line because you were busy at BBB and missed rope drop.

This is supposed to be a board for help, not continued criticism that I keep hearing...very sad :(

When Tink first appeared at M&G and was all the rage, we bee-lined it to Toon Town when it opened and waited in a ridiculously long line (not necessarily by A&E standards, but it sure seemed excessive then). My husband, daughter and I all waited in line together.

I don't know what the standby lines are like, but if they're like the ones that were in Toontown, you will make a lot of people really mad when you push past them to find your party. Those lines were in hallways, so you couldn't just walk up to your party. You would have had to literally pass everyone in line before you, probably explaining yourself to those other guests.

Last trip, we waited on the bridge for BOG. There was a whole line in front of us, but boy were we HACKED when the one lady directly in front of us became a party of 10 when her family rejoined her. It's pretty un-fun to wait in a line, and then watch it get bigger in front of you rather than smaller.

I agree and people here are so quick to hop onto their high horse about very minor issues. People love to chastise people and discuss what they would never do or what you aren't allowed to do(in most cases it is just b/c they want to sway people from doing it not that it isn't actually allowed). I also will say that we had FP for this m&g before Anna and Elsa were there and had people get out of line in the FP line(it was a little long for a FP) they left and came back as we rounded to meet the characters and our party of 13 had to move...it didn't bother me at all. It was two people it is no big deal to step to the side the line is plenty wide. Most ride lines are wide enough that we could put our bags down and get things out with a child standing next to me. Very few lines are so tight that someone can't easily pass you. Some might not feel it is right, but that doesn't mean it is wrong either. The CM's allow it the majority of the time and again it does no harm to try.
