I am sure one of the MANY Diser's have suggested this before, but just in case it has never been mentioned:
Our last trip to Disney was for a long weekend, and for the first time, rather than renting a car we hired a car service for airport transfers. Most companies will include a half hour stop from the airport in case you need to stop at a store for supplies.
We arranged to use our half hour stop on our return trip to the airport.
Having a late afternoon flight, we checked out of the hotel in the morning leaving our bags with the front desk. We went to DTD for some lunch and last minute shopping, and asked the driver to pick us up in front of World of Disney.
We used our stop time to go back to the hotel to pick up our bags and headed to the airport. It helped us squeeze that last little bit of Disney in without a whole lot of hassle.
