We always have a backpack with snacks, water, phone chargers, wet wipes, napkins, ponchos if rain is a possibility, etc.

Bag check was a hassle as the checkers tried to dig to the bottom of the backpack.

So now I pack everything in ziplock bags. Gallon bag for the snacks. Gallon bag for ponchos. Quart for phone stuff. Quart for wet wipes, napkins.

Then, when I get to bag check, I pull out the ziplock bags, the checker looks in the empty backpack, looks at a couple of the ziplocks. Drop the bags back in the backpack, and I'm done. Faster, easier, more secure.

Anyone else do this?

I empty my pockets and put everything in my bag before I go through security/metal detector, even my phone. Then I take out my AP, phone and whatever else I'll use for my first planned stop in the parks. I have a park baggie with a few Advil, Lactaid, Pepto, lip balm, hand sanitizer, a small sunscreen, a safety pin, a small pen, a few dollars and an extra empty baggie. I put my phone in it if it's raining or on water rides. I just toss it in whatever bag I'd taking that day, and sometimes it goes to sporting events or other places. When it rains I'll put everything in a baggie, though a few weeks ago I tried using a baggie instead of a zip pouch for money, ID, AP, etc and it ended with with me constantly confusing the baggies. The only caveat is, on a busy day I had the baggie in the zip pocket of my backpack. I went to get a free item that Disney offered via Twitter. It felt like my backpack was being pushed and pulled, but there were a lot of people. When I walked away my friend said the pocket was unzipped. Someone grabbed the whole thing. My keys were also in the pocket and fortunately they didn't get those, but it was still something to think about that everything was so easy to grab because it was all contained together.

I did this as well on our last trip to Disneyland on November. I made one for snacks, one for misc stuff like suntan lotion, hand sanitizer, chapstick..etc. I even made one for a diaper bag...fit 5 diapers, wipes clutch, small tube of buttpaste and a couple disposable changing pads. Worked like a charm going through security!
I still brought a small crossbody purse for things I didnt want to leave in the stroller like my wallet and camera. Security just peeked inside..quick and simple.

We have been traveling with Zip-Lock bags for years. It is the only way to go through airport TSA security as well as Customs. They open your bags and see all the personal items in the zip lock bags, close the bags and say "Have a nice day". The bags are the easy part, getting through the body scanners without the "Pat-Downs" are another story 8-)8-)8-)

I must be doing something wrong at security.. they have never really dug into my bag, just open the pockets and have a peek in..

I always use ziplocs and my travel first aid kit is in a clean container. Much fast as they don't have to open to look inside

Absolutely brilliant! I am definitely doing this for our trip. Anything that makes security quicker and reduces the chance of losing something.

Well, I will now.... :cutie:

I've been doing that for years. I've got it down to a Disney Dooney cross-body with 2 small ziplocks, a Vera zip ID case, and an empty gallon baggie to slip on my purse for water rides. If we're not onsite I also carry a sling bag with supplies sorted into 2 ziplocks to toss in a locker.

But I've never had Security actually look at what's in the ziplocks, they just kind of move them around to look for 'contraband'.

I do this too and I am almost always thanked by the cast member

Thanks for the tips. We always bring extra ziplock bags on our trips. So useful!

We do too. This was a trick I learned the first time I went to a tropical all inclusive 8 years ago. Have been 5 times and always bring a variety of sizes of ziplocks.
I never though of it from a security stand-point but it makes sense!
