Sorry if this is a dumb question, my husband has a rod in his leg from an accident many years ago. Will he have any problems at security? :confused3

He will most likely set off the alarms. But with all the knee and hip replacements now, it's no biggie. I would just anticipate it..he'll most likely have to go through more thorough screening but it shouldn't be an issue. My dh just got his knee replaced and he didn't mention any issues with security the last time he flew.

Tell the agent that you have a metal rod or piece here or there da da, da da so he will know where along the vertical scale on the archway the little lights will flash.

He will have to scan you with his hand held wand because the archway cannot tell what is against your other leg when one leg has the rod in it.
