We are travel out of MCO on Jan 1. I am presuming that security lines will be similar to the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

Anyone have 1st hand knowledge of wait times last Sunday?
BTW we always give ourselves 2 hours.

Many thanks less than 30 days and counting :cool1:

The times I went by the lines there was about 0 - 20 passengers waiting to get through. The lines have not been long since the new security employees were put on. December will probably test them. After January 4th there is nothing to build the lines up.

I flew out of MCO on Sunday. My flight was at 10:45am, and I arrived at the airport at 9:00am. The security line took me only about 10 minutes. Everything seemed to be running smoothly from what I could see. I hope you have the same experience.

Hi there~

My family also left yesterday, Nov 26th there was about a 5 minute wait for security. I was quite surprised. :thumbsup2

Hope this helps

Patricia

Thanks all for the information.
We will be using Resort check in for baggage and boarding passes.
My time line of 2 hours sounds about right.

We flew out of MCO Jan 2, 2006. There were at least 3,000 people in line. It took us about 2.5 hours to get thru. This is one of the busiest days for MCO.

There has been a lot of work done at MCO to clear up the situation you faced in January. The lines are smaller because the airport has hired employees who get your information and bags ready before you reach the TSA people. Since May the lines have been diminished considerably from your experience last year. I think the reports from the Thanksgiving traffic show the implementation of the new ideas is working. I checked out the third floor many times during Thanksgiving and saw small lines ready to show ID and get ready for the TSA. Everybody else was through and headed to their planes. Hopefully January, coming up, will show a great improvement in the transfer of passengers through the security lines.

I didn't realize the lines were so much better now. Great news!

But on Januaery 1, I don't think it will be especially busy. At least it was not when we flew out of MCO on NY Day. It was practically a ghost town on 1/1/2000.
