Security @ House of Blues!!!

When we arrived to check out Downtown Disney we saw that the band Seven Dust, current well known rock band, at the House of Blues was playing. Tickets were about $27 each

Before I get to my point: On Dec 9th, the rock world lost an excellent guitarist and super nice guy, Dimebag Darrell Abbot, was shot and killed at a nightclub in Columbus Ohio. He was playing a set onstage with his band Damage Plan where he was shot point blank, and 4 others killed and others injured. Thankfully a police officer came to the rescue. Darrell was known for his guitar skills in the metal band Pantera.

Now to my point...We went to the house of Blues on the 3rd BEFORE this episode happened. I am SOOOOOO thankful for the HOB security, as they wanded each and every person going into the bar. They checked my purse, but also wanded me. Now looking back at it....I'm very thankful for the extra effort they took to help ensure our safety. It's an excellent precaution that was taken!

DH was a guitarist in a band, and never did he think someone would think of shooting him or someone in his band at a bar or on stage at a concert. The wand is a great addition to security. Thank you again HOB!!!!

p.s. it's a great venue to go eat at or to watch a band!!!

How refreshing it is to see someone not complain about security! I know there's a lot more than there use to be, and at times it seems like a horrid inconvenience, but if it can prevent a shooting rampage or a 9/11, then it seems like a small price to pay.

I love seeing bands at HOB it's so cool....and I'd rather have the security then not, so I agree with you!

After hearing about the shooting that resulted in deaths/injuries at the nightclub, it became more clear to us this can happen anywhere!

I think although security is not 100% fool proof, I believe any effort helps. I also believe the extra time it takes to go through the security checking, which sometimes feels like a hassle, lives could help be saved.

If it wasn't for the policeman in this shooting at the club, MANY more bystandards would have been killed. So...next time you are being checked, wanded, etc....be sure to say thank you!
