I am full of questions!!! First off, is security an issue for those tent camping? Is there anyplace to lock up your belongings? Do you just keep your suitcases in the tent?

Can you get pillows and blankets from FW if you do not want to bring yours?

Will we be miserably hot all night during Sept?

We are flying, which makes it hard to bring all our stuff! I think I will be doing good to bring the tent and air mattresses!

You might do a search on this site for tent camping, there was some information awhile back about people flying could carry all their equipment as they wre allowed two 40 lbs bags per person. If going during the summer it can get very hot. As for security FW is a pretty good place to be and I have not heard of much theft there. No pillows or blankets for tents, but they do rent tents.

Hey there, we tent camped this past September and got there by train. We didn't take pillows or blankets, just sheet sets to go over our air mattresses (as far as I know Disney doesn't loan those things). I rolled a soft shirt up to lift my head higher when I slept and was fine. We didn't get hot at all, it would be warm when we went to sleep and cool when we woke up (you could get more heat though, depending on when you're going to be there and if any tropical weather goes through. I've seen small lightweight fans in camping supply stores if you'd like to have one of those on hand). We had the bus schedule and route from FW to 192 on hand in case we needed to get any supplies, we ended up just buying what we needed from the store at FW. The little extra we spent was worth it to not spend time going off property.

We just keep our suitcases in our tent, we tried to make sure we didn't bring anything with us that we didn't feel safe leaving in the tent. The biggest security issue is leaving food on the table unattended. Critters are the biggest thieves at FW!

I don't know what the cost would be, but you might consider shipping equipment to Fort Wilderness before you leave and it will be there when you arrive.
