I only recently realised that the security points are before you get to DLH. On another thread I've already said this seems dodgy to me.

Anyway, it's raised a few questions that I wonder if anyone could answer.

When we first arrive with our luggage, is there a separate security point? If not, then is security going to rummage through our bags, holding up day visitors? I can't remember what the security points are like, but if they're like WDW then the tables are small and hardly designed for searching holdalls or suitcases.

If we want to visit Disney Village in the evening and go back to DLH after the park has closed, is there still a security point open for us to go through? If not, how do we get back into the hotel?

Just putting this up front as you will get more replies :)
I'm sure other posters have confirmed that security is on duty 24 hours :)

Hi tigger,

How are you arriving at your hotel? If its by train, then yes, the shortest route from the train station to the DLH is via the security entrances at the gates to the parks. They will ask you to open your cases there. Theres no much rummaging goes on though - you put the case on the table, open it, CM has a look, and you close it and go on your way.

There is however, another (and the main) entrance to the DLH. If you arrive by coach, car etc, you will go to that entrance, and will not have the security clearance bit.

There is a guard at one of the security gates to the parks 24 hours, for DLH guests leaving and entering that way. All you need is your hotel ID and you will get in and out of that entrance no problem at all, no matter what time.

Unfortunately, there's no where between the DLH and the park entrance to put the security tables - the DLH is just too close...

If you're arriving by direct Eurostar, then you could always pay £15 per head (I think that's how much it was) for the Disney Express service, which will tkae your cases to the hotel.

Having said that, the bag inspection is so quick (and poor) that all you'll probably need to do is open the zip of the case and close it again :thumbsup2

This has just reminded me - when we were there, we saw about 3 sniffer dogs in the park at various times.

Wow, how wierd that you have to open up your suitcase.....

Thats gonna make me really nervous when its my turn!! I get funny at every securty checkpoint in travel...dont know why!

There is deffo security there 24 hours, we had to show our reservation slip for Inventions so we could get to the hotel after park closing.

 When we booked over the phone in the summer, we never got a reservation slip. Do you get them from city hall when you arrive?

I only ask because that would make getting through security quite difficult if you didn't know about picking up a slip...

I suppose in summer the gates are open longer anyhow. We went to City Hall to get reservation slips even though we had booked by phone but only coz we'd had a problem once before when we had booked Walts by phone and our name wasnt on the list so we prefer the slips in our hand

We booked to eat at 7.30 the park shut at 7pm. I'm assuming if you don't have a slip then security will check your reservation as we had to get clearence to go through even though we had a slip.

Thank you everyone. :flower3:

This will be a first for us, to have Disney Security rummage through our luggage! I'll have to make sure we take our newest underwear. :lmao:

We have no problem being searched or having our luggage searched, we just find it extremely irritating when it isn't done properly. Which, unfortunately, is most of the time.
