We fly in just over 3 days and I noticed when looking on Delta's website that there is a section for 'secure passenger information' and all our names are spelled wrongly on there - we have the easiest names in the world and whoever has keyed them has made a total mess of things. My name for example says Susanmar H under Christian name - I am just Susan and my daughter's name is Natalie - hers is spelt as Natiliejayne H.
Is this linked to TSA at all when we completed our ESTA's? We only updated them this time so don't see how our names are wrong but it says that if they are you ring a number in the US (which is just constantly engaged)

How do we correct this - as I don't know who is responsible it's a tricky one. Was it the airline, the travel agent or the TSA?

Also was just checking to see if our flight times had changed and I couldn't see the flight numbers on the return flight which I had booked months ago - ended up having to rebook and now our seats are not together - Delta offices are now closed:confused3

Can anyone offer any advice - I really need it.

First of all, where are you seeing this? Is it on the actual eTicket (booking confirmation) or is it under the API section? You should be able to edit your API info. And yes, this information is passed to the US Immigration by the airline

You will need to ring them to sort it out ASAP but first check what you can change yourself.

Did you put in middle names when you booked?

PS is there a USA office number for DELTA? Try check call centre numbers on the US website. They shoudln't be closed yet

When I booked our November flights in August the Delta agent spelled by sons name wrong. He had put Issac instead of Isaac when I told him twice how to spell it. I noticed right away and called that evening and again in the AM the next day. Delta fixed the issue. Hopefully you can get some answers as you fligh so soon. Call Delta as if you are booking a new flight this evening and see if they can help you? I booked my flight at 7pm and I noticed you posted earlier today -hopefully you can talk to an agent. PS the nice agent that heled us told me that ID and passenger info must match for adults but children are not required to have ID??? I always have our childrens passports as we are Canadian but fly from Detroit which is only and hour away. I hope this helps. Good Luck .

I managed to speak to someone at Delta USA - I had just been dialling 01 at the start of the number instead of 001!

They say it is the agent that has keyed the information wrong and it is only the agent that can change things - I suppose it is crucial that they do as we are three adults. It must have been done when I rang up to give my accommodation details. I will ring them tomorrow to get this sorted as I cannot change this at all myself - not sure what API section means - it just says Secure Passenger information - lets you add emergency contact numbers etc but not the name. Delta for now has just made a note on the booking as to what the names should be.

The actual names on the tickets appear to be right - should it say SUSANMRS then SURNAME on the ticket? I am casting doubts over everything they have done.

Make a list of everything you want to check and take your time on the call tomorrow, asking them to read it back to you letter by letter. Ask them to email you confirmation of the changes as well and then go into the booking and check it again. At least they have acknowledged it is their doing :)

Let us know how you get on. I know it's stressful but this is probably one night where you could do with a decent sleep. Hopefully you get some x

Thank you - good idea to ask for an email confirmation of the changes they make - I will check it again once I get in from work tomorrow. Will have to sneak away from work into a private room somewhere to make the call.

Will keep you posted on how I get on. Thing is I bet a lot of people would just check that their invoice is right (which it is as it doesn't mention this) and just travel - blissfully unaware (maybe until they got to the US Customs!!) I am a bit anal and have to check everything online as well.

I am a bit of a compulsive checker with these things too. I have a double barrel name and my daughter has a short, very simply spelled but very unusual name - and it causes heaps of issues so where possible I try to do online bookings and not over the phone ones but that's not always an option.

DW has a double barrelled surname (she kept her maiden name in their because of work connections) and every time i book a flight i end up phoning the agent to make sure its correct - VA just don't recognise hyphens and roll the two names into one!

I can relate to that!! However I've just learned to roll with it. For flights I just leave it looking strange with the names run on as one. In fact, many online booking forms don't recognize hyphens, including the WDW booking site so every year I get my names run on as one and then just ring them up to separate them with a hyphen and it's never been a problem. Flights, I just leave as they are because it's treated the same way as if you put a middle name in where it just takes the first letter of the second name, i.e. Sarah Jane becomes Sarahj

Hi Pigby, just wondering how you got on yesterday. Did you manage to get it all sorted out? :goodvibes

Yes I did (hopefully) - the agent changed the names but they worried me again when she said she wanted to check our flight on the return as the leg from Paris to Manchester appeared to have been cancelled. She rang me back about 2 hours later to say that it was now confirmed and wasn't cancelled (it is showing up on my online booking) - struggled to get any work done in that 2 hours, I can tell you.

If I don't come home on time might be stuck in Paris somewhere - oh well could always 'nip' over to DLRP while we there lol:rotfl2:
