secret porthole--cat. 10? Available 11 months out?

I am debating whether to get one cat.4 for my family next July or two cat. 10s. It would be the 3 day Wonder, so I imagine we wouldn't be in the room much anyhow, but I was wondering how fast those "secret porthole" rooms go and which deck they are on. I would like to have some natural light in the room. On the other hand, cat. 10 saves me 40 DVC points!

I booked 1 year out and got the last one of the six secret porthole cabins for our 3-day cruise.

I wish I could--I can only book 11 months out with DVC points. Plus I'll need 2 rooms if I go cat. 10.

Hi Robin. We tried for a secret porthole room for our cruise this Aug right at 11 months. No luck, they were all gone.

The chance of a set of the adjoiners at 11 months is probably pretty remote. We were working 19 months in advance and had to shuffle weeks to get one of the 2 connecting sets of secret portholes.

Don't get discouraged ! We were able to book 5022/5024 for the Aug 4 sailing (4 night) in March !!!! I didn't ask for these rooms specifically, either. I just a asked for connecting catagory 10 cabins and this is what MS offered me. I was very surprised . When I asked MS how they choose which cabins go to DVC members, she said DCL offer the best locations available for whichever catagory you request. In my case, this certainly was true.

I read all the threads about the secret porthole cabins and have gotten the feeling that it is easier to book these cabins on the shorter cruises. I think these cruises don't book up as fast as the 7 day cruises do. Of course, this is just my opinion .
