Hi guys,
My wife and I were just wondering if anyone had any additional experiences or any extras that are found throughout disneyworld that arent particularly advertised(for example we just found out about the wishes desert party-never knew it existed!!!!!) thought it would be interesting to see what we all come up with?

When we stayed at VWL we had the opportunity to be the flag family. This was a really special experience, we went up to the roof top and raised the flags. A photo pass photographer came too and captured the moment for us and we got to see the outstanding views. When we were finished we were treated to breakfast with the concierge guests. This was an amazing experience!

Oh wow! That sounds amazing! How did you get to do that - were you randomly picked or did you have to apply?

When you check in ask if they have any availability during your stay. I think they do pick guests randomly if no one has signed up though.

The bar in Sana i would call secret. You can have appetizers and drinks without having sanaa reservations. My wife and I eat bread service and some drinks for lunch all the time there. Its great when your lazy .

For night time entertainment:

Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk, a dueling piano bar with fantastic entertainment. Over 21 only.

Bob Johnson (Yehaa Bob), www.yehaabob.com, plays at Port Orleans Riverside. Family entertainment which is tons of fun. Check out his web site for his schedule there.

If you're visiting during Oct. or Dec. the carriage rides at Ft. Wilderness are great fun.

We Disneymooned at BWV and the entertainment on the boardwalk was a huge favorite for our familes. Everyone just gathered outside and took it all in. Sit on a bench, people watch and enjoy a drink or some ice cream. Loved it over there...always something going on.

We've found many "secret experiences" since becoming DVC members. By that I mean we can now slow down and "smell the roses" so to speak and since we go every year we now seek out new things to do. We have played mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens one year, taken an archery lesson at Fort Wilderness another year and in two weeks we will be doing our first Disney tour (UnDISCOVERED Future World.) But the most "secret" of experiences have been the unexpected such as when my husband was on the last ride of the day for Soarin' at midnight during EMH and when he got off the ride he thanked the CM's and told them that Soarin" is his favorite ride and they let him back on for a private ride, all by himself! Secret experience or Disney magic, sometimes they're the same thing.

There's nothing "secret" about it, but one of our favorite things at WDW is to have a great dinner at the California Grill, then take our wine out on the rooftop verandah to watch Wishes.

Another tip is that the second level verandah outside Teppan Edo is a great place to watch Illuminations, and you can just walk right up there without having to enter the restaurant.

I don't know whether you call this a secret experience but it is one you can have with the late magic hours at MK particularly when those go into the wee hours. When there is only about 1/2 hour left in the 3 hour magic hours period and it is something like 1:30 in the morning, just go down to the base of Main Street and stare down Main Street toward the castle. It is an eerie but peaceful experience to see everything lit up but only about a half dozen people total in sight. It is the only time in your life you can actually see that part of the park essentially empty and you are somewhat surprised by how wide the street with sidewalks actually looks when it is virtually empty.

Night Vision Goggles animal viewing at Animal Kingdom Lodge after dusk.

Book BOMA for dinner an hour before dusk. After dinner you walk right outside and they provide night goggles to view the animals on the Savannah.

(sorry if this was already posted, I didnt have time to read responses)

Along with Tramp's suggestion, after you get done viewing the animals with night vision glasses and speaking with the African exchange people, head on in to the library at Kidani and enjoy a drum circle (mostly for the youngsters) and a cultural exchange (mostly for adults) presented by the exchange personel. It's a LOT of fun, plus informative. We rank it as one of our must do things at Disney.

We like to make dining reservations for breakfast in the parks before the park opens for the day. Walking down Main Street or down a wandering pathway in Animal Kingdom and feeling like you have the whole park to yourself is awesome. Plus-the pictures you can take in front of the Castle/Tree of Life..etc. with no one else in them?? Amazing!!:thumbsup2

We have never done it, but friends watch Wishes on the beach at the Poly and they love it!

It's at Kidani - we also enjoy doing this. :goodvibes

Not sure if its still there, but several years ago a friend and I sat at a checker board table and chairs in the horse barn at the MK. We played for almost an hour and watched as they brought in the horses from the carrages and such. It was a wonderful memory that we talk about often. We will be vacationing again together this weekend and plan to see if its still there!

I almost hate to share this, as it is not the image I want to project for myself, but I was dumbfounded to see that there was a full service bar in Hollywood Studios. It is a small side window around the corner from the Backlot Cantina. It offers special adult libations, too, with fancy names and unbrellas! Who knew!?!

I literally just found out about the paintbrush thing in MK....can't wait to try this!

Pirates & Pals Fireworks voyage is a unique experience. And you can still enjoy the MK fireworks and lots of Disney fun without using a day of your park tickets. A fun way to start a vacation.
It starts at the Contemporary Hotel, there's snacks and meet & greet with Capt. Hook and Smee and then you get on a boat and watch the fireworks from the water. The music is piped in, and the pirates (hosts) are very fun. We went as two adults and had a good time.
