Can this still be used ??

I came across this when doing my research. Not sure how old the info is though-

•If you are staying in the wing furthest from the lobby (which includes many of the Downtown Disney and theme park view rooms – roughly rooms X419 through X454), the fastest way to get out to Downtown Disney and/or to the Disneyland front gate is to use the fire exit stairs located across the hall from rooms X447 and X449. You will come out right next to La Brea Bakery. You can’t come back in through that door (unfortunately there is no room key reader on the outside) but it can save you a lot of back-tracking to go out that way.

Yes. This is the exit we always use. Opens up right in front of the bag check area. Remember though this is not an entrance. The door locks and you cannot open it from the outside.

Lana :)

good to know-
thought I had read that using it would set off alarms

I too had previously read about this, good to know that is still an option even if it can't used as an entrance.

Thanks for the update.

I have seen it and always wanted to use it... good to know that it you get out that way. :thumbsup2

Just used it last week again. I would head out there with DS and Nephew, and DW would take the elevators out and around and meet us n line.

Yes, the time saving exit is still available :thumbsup2
The entrance is between x448 and x450, accessible from floors 3 to 5.

A video of the exit :goodvibes

Thanks. I will say that's a little creepy, though. You could make a nice haunted house in those tight, window-less corridors. I would only use that if my room was right there.

Not to derail the thread, but going ahead of some slower or later arriving family members and getting in line is something I've wanted to do in the past. Is space-in-line saving ok at Disneyland?

If its a few people I wouldn't be mad if I was the one behind you...but if its like 5 or more, yeah depending in if its there first time, PH's, pictures by CM's, you could really put a damper in someone's day that thought it was only you and maybe someone waiting with you, and then a herd shows up...lol!

My girls and I stayed in one of these rooms on the forth floor last summer at GC. We were right over World of Disney. We always exited through the alternate exit, which got us to the front gates in just a few steps. The only issue it that you can't get back in--so you have to go through the normal entrance when going back into the hotel. It makes for a very quick entrance into the park!

OK, good. At most it would be 2 people, and we'd only do it for open queues like character meet and greats and esplanade queues (ones you can walk straight into the middle of), and not for tight queues like Fantasyland rides where you would have to explain to people why you are passing them.

I'm pretty sure junmatno's previous response was assuming you were talking about waiting in line at the gates for entry in the morning, not waiting in line for attractions. The general consensus on attraction lines is that everyone must wait in line, with exceptions made for a parent needing to leave the line to take a child to the bathroom. What you're asking to do is frowned on by most here.

Yes that's what I meant...our last trip everyone was so nice when I had to take our 6 year old to the bathroom, and even once when he left his autograph book on the stroller at Mickeys house. But I think anything else people would get upset with anything else.

I think we're on the same page. Saving spots in lines in the esplanade for park entry is ok.

I would never save a spot for someone in my family for an attraction queue.
