I think if the rank-and-file members were polled (in secret, anyway) they'd likely oppose it... but it's not the rank-and-file that's supporting this change, it's the leadership.
I believe you are right, but it is scary to think that something like this that goes against the will of the people can be legislated by a congress that is supposed to represent the people. I mean, if something like this should become law, what can we expect to be legislated next? I just find this a really scary issue.
). However, there are those people out there that do not want the attention brought upon themselves for voting against union and should be able to vote in secret.
