Just curious! We have a WDW trip planned for this April! But in a few years we like to plan a trip to DL/San Diego. My DH has never been to CA. I haven't been there since I was a teen. How is the weather and crowds in June at DL and other local attractions in the area?

Thanks!
Magalex

June weather is usually pretty decent--either warm and sunny or overcast and a little cooler. But second week of June crowds are fairly large, plus there's grad nights that week, so on some days the parks close earlier.

The weather is perfect for a DL vacation in June. A bit hot, but not as bad as July/August. The crowds during the first two weeks of June, however, are full of kids from near by schools that take end of year trips to the park and DL closes early quite a few evenings for Grad Nite festivities. If you were able to push your trip back to later in June, that might be better. It's still crowded as it is summer, but by then it will pretty much just be vacationing families, as opposed to large groups of kids from ages 11-18.

Thanks for the information. We can go any time in June when summer vacation starts. So When I start looking at dates I will make sure grad nights are over because we would like to be at DL when there are longer evening hours.

I was also considering the second week of June because my son is out of school on June 7. Then I realized the school crowds would be there and opted for the week before Labor Day (coming back on Friday). It looks like "value season" (as opposed to "regular season") starts Aug. 28 so I am hoping the crowds will have died down a little by then.

Yikes!
I wasn't even thinking about DL Grad Nites being in June because here in Florida,
school gets out much earlier than in CA (late May) and WDW Grad Nites are in May.
We are visiting June 21-28. Will Grad Nites be over by then?
I hope so ...

We were there this past June, the 21-23. Weather was perfect. Mid 70's during the day. We took sweatshirts with us as mornings were a little cool and same for evenings. Also - I thought the crowds were managable. Great Fast pass system. (don't know if it has changed, but we were able to carry more than 1 at a time.) Stayed at the Grand Californian and loved it. Restaurants were quite good.

Happy planning!

Pam

I am sure that school will be out and grad nights will be over by the time you are there at the end of June. Does anyone happen to know how the crowds compare at the end of June and the end of August? Still trying to decide what is the best time to go.

Oh gosh, will it be the same for the first week of June? 6-10th? I was wondering about grad nights and all but didn't know if they were weekdays or just weekends? Any info would be apprceciated!

The grad nights are weekdays, and it usually goes from the first week in June, and I believe into the third week of June. Toward the latter part of your vacation, there's a good chance that a lot of schools will be taking day trips. So the bad news is that DL could be full of kids from ages 11 - 18 (usually 11-14) with no parental supervision making quite a ruckus. The good news is they're usually only at the park from about 10am - 3pm. But then if it's a grad night, the park usually stays open until only 6 or 7pm. :guilty:

So between Grad nights and school trips (both of which I'd like to avoid - nothing against kids having fun, but, well, ya know . . .) maybe weekends in June wouldn't be so bad? Does anyone have any insight about this?
