O.K. after reading many, and I mean many threads....please tell me that the second week in August is really not that bad :sad2: .......we have no other opportunity to go this year and at this point I'll take what I can. A bad time of year (crowds and weather) is better then not going at all.......Thanks in advance! :flower:

We went starting Aug.13 for a week in 2003. It really was not that bad crowd wise. I did not find it too crowded at all (except MK) but it was hot and we spent alot of time by the pool.
It did rain almost everynight (more like monsoon some nights), but usually stopped (not always). You'll need rain ponchos and sprayer bottles with water. There were 20 of us (family reunion) and I had everyone buy the water spray bottles (some had fans some didn't) home because they were so much cheaper (they were $15 the last time I bought at the park, I think they are more now). Some found them for $2.00, no one paid over $5.00. Thats a bit savings if you have more than one child.

We are in the same boat. Couldn't get the money together for June, so that left us our only other choice...2nd week of August. I am hoping some schools will have already started, so crowds might be just a tad smaller. UG has them smaller, but of course not like a 2 or 3. I think it was a 7.

DS & I will be there for 2wks this summer - Aug 13-27
we're planning the parks early the first wk, late the 2nd wk - hoping that works out

We were there right before Hurricane Charlie hit last summer and it was fine. The crowds are not that bad, IMHO, but the weather can be both hot and humid and it does usually rain mid-afternoon, although not enough to ruin your plans. School returns in early August in Central Florida, so the parks are not that crowded. Downtown Disney is crazy on the weekends, but that is the case all year anyway! ;)

Thanks everyone! I feel much better now.......I have been spoiled the last 4 years going the week after labor day! During that time hardly any crowds and the weather wasn't that bad! This year DH has 3 business trips planned this summer and this is the only time we can fit Disney in!! :flower:
