We have two rooms booked at Movies. First room is for 10 nights with three guests (me, DH, DD15). Second room is for 7 nights (DS22, DS19). On the last three nights DS22 will move into the first room while DS19 has to leave for University. I know we will pay an extra $35 a night for the nights we have three adults in the room and that’s fine.

My concern is FP+. How do I get DS22 added to the first room on day 7 in order to be able to book him fast FP+ on the last three days without adding him to the first room for the whole 10 days?

Thanks for any advice or insight on guests joining mid-stay or switching rooms mid-stay.

I would suggest that you add DS22 to your 10 night room now to allow you to book all his FP+ days at your 60 day mark.

Once you get to the resort, just stop by the front desk and switch him to the second room with his brother to save you the $35 extra adult charge for 7 days. On the day your DS19 checks out of the second room, just swing by the Front desk and have your DS22 re-added to your room.

If DS22 is in the second room and the check in date is the same date as the first room, then you will be able to make fp+s for all of the days that he has tickets. You will be able to make fastpasses for everyone in your party for your entire trip at the same time if the check in dates for the two rooms is the same day. The 60 day check in rule only applies to the day your window opens. It isn't limited to the days you are in the room. As long as you can see his ticket in your MDE account then you can make fp+s for him.

There is a very concise information thread on how fastpasses work on the Theme Park forum. :)

She doesn't need to add him to the first room. Once the 60 day window opens she will be able to make fastpasses for all of the days of the trip. It doesn't turn off because he switched rooms.

Thanks for the info. I definitely need to do more homework about FB booking process. I just made an assumption you could only book at 60 days for dates where your name showed as an on-site guest.
Goes to show how important that homework is.
Cheers

Hi it’s me (OP) again with questions beyond the FP issue.

We are thinking of adding DDP to our first room. If we do this would we still be able to add our son to this room mid trip?

Also would he be able to use extra magic hours if we add him mid trip?

Thanks again for the help and info
