We are doing a split stay in September and staying 3 nights when we first arrive on Deluxe Dining. We wanted to try places we have not eaten before.
I chose Citricos, Narcosee's, Yachtman's Steakhouse and California Grill. We love CG and I am pretty sure we will love Narcosee's and YS - based on menu and reviews.

I am not sure about Citricos. A few of us are not BIG seafood lovers. We like shrimp, but I don't really like fish.

What is your favorite Signature Dining? Have you experienced Citricos? Any opinions would be great - I know my window for tweaking reservations narrows by the day. :scared1:

**Another note - we DO NOT have tickets to the parks for those 3 nights. And we are staying at Boardwalk Villas. But we are not choosing anything by that.

TIA!!!:goodvibes

I haven't been to Citrico's however, we have been to Yachtsman's and Narcoosee's. I can say that they are both very good and in my opinion definitely worth it. We are debating this year to try California Grill although with such mixed reviews, we aren't sure. Good luck with your choices:)

California Grill is a solid option. Overall, the food is quite good, as is the service. It does get noisy there because it's so popular, but it's not unmanageable.

I don't recommend Citrico's. Other posters will likely disagree, but the service was haughty and patronizing and the food of mediocre quality for what you're paying. It is not worth 2 TS credits.

I really like Citricos - I find that it is every bit as good, if not better, than California Grill, but without the loud atmosphere. We've had excellent service there. I know another poster above said the service is haughty...that has never been our experience at all. (We've dined there 3 times in the last 3 years, and I have another reservation for this June.) I tend to eat filet mignon on vacation since I never eat beef out at home and I had the very best steak I've ever had at Disney at Citricos.

That is my fear about Citrico's. I just don't know if we would like it. Also, we will be eating steak the next night - and looking at the menu - the filet would be the most likely choice. My hubby would disagree - but I would rather not eat steak - 3 nights in a row. :)

We loved CG last time. So excited to be on deluxe to eat apps as well. The experience was just amazing.

You will get all different opinions but for what it's worth here is mine...

California Grill is a great choice. Food, service, & atmosphere is excellent.

Citiricos was underwhelming for us. DH had the steak & he did not care for it. I had a chicken dish & it was well....just chicken really, nothing exceptional. My DD asked for a PB & J & they gave her an Uncrustable...yuck. Not what I would call a "signature dining experience" at all. Service was ok nothing like what you would expect for that level of dining.

My families favorite signature restaurants are CG and Jiko. We have also been to Narcoossee's, which we liked, but not Citricos or Yachtsman so can't help you with those two. I would suggest you give Jiko a try. It is amazing, plus you could spend a bit of time before or after your meal, checking out the animals from the public viewing areas.

We've eaten at Citricos on our last 3 trips to WDW and the service and food were wonderful every time. DFIL is picky about his steak and the perfect doneness, and he loved his steak there. The rest of had various selections and we all enjoyed them. DD was never a PB&J kid, so she tries more adult fare and was always happy there, especially with the "make-your-own-sundae" dessert (plus she samples from our plates - she really enjoyed the gnocchi that came with the pork-2-ways).

If a few of the OP's party are not seafood lovers (neither am I), Narcoossee's is mostly fish, with 1 steak and 1 chicken entree, I think - not much for a land-lubber like me.

Narcoossee's is more of a seafood restaurant than Citricos is, so if seafood is a problem, you are going to have a bigger issue at Narcoossee's than Citricos.

That being said, Citricos is awesome! Great food and service. It is one of my favorites at WDW.

CG is delicious, but it gets very crowded and loud, what with all the people and families lingering over dinner to they can see the fireworks.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a solid steakhouse. Pretty basic, but very good.

Never been to Narcoossee's, but am going in October, so I will let you know!

Jiko is my favorite signature spot at WDW. If you have never been there, well worth a visit.

I have been to
Cali Grill and Loved it
Citricos and Loved it
Narcoossee's and Loved it.

They are all great places and would go back to any one of these places in a heartbeat.

My favorite "signature" dining is Jiko, followed by Bistro de Paris (not on DDP but accepts TiW) and then Yachtsman's Steakhouse.

We just ate at Narcoosee's last week and really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. There is a lot of seafood on the menu, but my DH had the filet and it was very good.

Based on our Deluxe dining adventure in January I would absolutly recommend Citricos, in fact both DH and I were very concerned about this choice it was even added last minute when we realized we had a ton more credits than we were using and needed to add another 2 signatures. That being said we both Loved it here. There wasn't a lot on the menu that appealed to me and we had already had 4 nights of filet/short ribs so our wonderful server convinced me to try the veal shank (I have had veal 2 other times and hated it) but I trusted him on this one and all I can say is:cloud9:. This was by far voted the best entree of the 5 signature restaurants that we tried hands down. My duck confit app with gnocchi was also wonderful as was the lemon cheesecake. All DH's food was also wonderful that night but I really had the better overall meal. I was skeptical about this one but it blew me away. We also had a wonderful server and didn't feel out of place at all in our sneakers/park clothes.

Cali grill: okay, some dishes too salty, restaurant too loud, but great sushi/apps and some really good main dishes as well

Yachtsman: good steak also very good spare ribs, bread was wonderful, side of mushrooms was awesome, desserts okay, great service/atmosphere

Brown Derby: overpriced not very good, worst chicken of my life and I love chicken, apps and desserts were wonderful, again great service

Jiko: Amazing all courses were wonderful service was top notch, best signature experience of the trip

Hoping to try AP, Narcoossee's and FF soon

Citricos is our favorite signature restaurant. We have always had wonderful food and service there. The veal shank is excellent as well as the filet sicilian. I really want to try the pork two ways there this fall, I am hoping it is still on the menu. The gateau of crab, cheese plate and goat cheese truffle salad are nice appetizers.

We went to Narcoosees once and it was just so-so. The server failed to enter my appetizer and lied about it-the rest of the party's apps came out and mine was 5 minutes late, pretty annoying. The entrees were okay, nothing incredible though. I am giving Narcoosees a second chance this vacation for my birthday dinner, so it better be good :goodvibes

Yachtsman SH is another favorite-I could go here twice during my stay. great food, excellent service every time.

I wrote California Grill of several years ago. We had gone there for many years and each year it kept getting busier and busier. The last few times we went we waited over and hour and a half, each time, to be seated past our adr time even after checking in 20 minutes before. I have no problem waiting 30 minutes for a popular place, but the 1 1/2 is ridiculous-the food is not that good .

Ate for the first time at Artist Point last time and it was good, but not great. The salmon was good, and the mac and cheese side was outstanding. My wife liked the cobbler. Everything else was "meh". Much better experiences at Cali Grill, Narcoossee's, Cirticos, and Jiko, probably in that order.

For the OP, agreed that if your family isn't big on seafood (like lobster, which is the star at Narcoossee's for me), it might be best to skip that one.

I know that you didn't say anything about Jiko, but I LOOOOVE :lovestruc Jiko. You should give it a try!

Citricos is my favorite WDW restaurant! Better than Narcoossees. DH even loved it there, and he doesn't like seafood at all. Theres plenty of other things to enjoy on the menu.

I am surprised there is no love for Artist Point?
I hate to mention AP since it's my favorite spot at WDW. Don't want to muck it up with too many people. ;) Between the ambience, service, and menu, I've enjoyed it every time I've gone (somewhere around seven visits). Yet, it remains a hidden gem. . .and I'm okay with that. :cool2:
