Second and third week of May

We are going right after my brother graduates from college. What do you think the crowds will be like? Guidebooks are not always that accurate; I want to hear it from the experts--all of you!

Background--there will be 8 of us. We're staying at the Beach Club. We love to do everything. Will everything be open--water parks, etc.? This is a new time of year for us; we usually go in August when everything is in full swing.

Should we plan for all of our meals or kind of wing it some days?

we will be there the 1st and 2nd week of May this year for the first time. Everything I have read says it is moderately busy - not too bad. You might try asking this on the Tehem Parks board for more responses.

You might want to look into Star Wars weekends at MGM that start in mid to late May.

May is a lovely time-Star Wars weekends are a bit fun--but the busiest that I ever see MGM.

In general the weekends are getting busy--and Florida schools are wrapping up. But all in all, a great time to go.

I like the weather in that month--but others coming from the north might find it very hot. Sunscreen is a must as well as staying well hydrated. IMHO, the humidity isn't bad. But then again I am used to it.

If you plan MGM on the weekend--I would definitely book those ahead of time.

We went the 3rd week of May 2005 and the crowds were fine - about 5. Weather was hot -90s and humid. All parks were open. Very few if any rides shut down for maintenance. No problems getting reservations. Hotels were still offering off-peak rates. It was a very good time to go.
However...the closer you get to Memorial Day the more crowded it gets.

Thanks for your responses! Compared to August crowds, heat and humidity, May sounds like it shouldn't be that bad. I can't wait to go!
