Once you close on a second contract does the new account show under your dvc account online or do you have to wait for the new number to arrive in the mail and then call to get it linked?
It should automatically show up in your account, but it does take almost as much time as if they had to start a new account for you. It might only be a few days quicker from what I remember.
For us it showed up automatically under our DVC log in. However, from what I understand in order for that to happen, the deed has to be recorded identically with the name/names on your other contract.
Last time (about 3 months ago) it took about a week from closing/deed recorded for the new contract to be loaded into my account. However, it took another 3 days after that for the points to be loaded.

Assuming you have the same use year & contract #2 is titled exactly the same as contract #1, then the second contract should show up in your on line account several days after your deed is recorded. Sometimes it takes a few extra days for the new contract’s points to load.

I think Disney has been a bit overloaded lately and they've had staff on vacation. It took a full 2 weeks from contract recording (Thursday early AM) to points in my account (Thursday 2 weeks later, at 10pm)
If you look on the closing time thread, a new owner (first resale contract) had points in their account in slightly less time (like maybe 13 days instead of 14). This may also be because the points in my new contract were all messed up (some borrowed, some expiring, etc.)

I don't think it matters to much, I think the real factor is how many people are on vacation or working on account that week. Resale contracts are on the bottom of the priority pile for DVC.
