I was looking at the SeaWorld Orlando site and was wondering what shows are must-do's. I don't want to waste precious touring time if the show is not that great. We definitely want to see Shamu and the dolphins but I wasn't sure if the acrobat (A'Lure) show or sea lion shows were must do's. Thanks!

I have a 7 year old and he loved the seal show, it was funny. We were visiting during Christmas and we saw the holiday and regular version of the show.

We both really liked the acrobat show. The cast played their parts well and it was memorable. They only had one showing when we were there.

We also really liked Pets Ahoy. All of the animals did some pretty neat tricks.

I really liked all of the shows but we have Busch Gardens plat passes which work at Sea World. We went for two days and could squeeze it all in. Even then, we didn't see the dolphin show. Since this is a wildlife park, I think you can skip the acrobat show and pets ahoy. I would try to see Clyde and Sealmore show, this was a favorite. You can't skip Shamu but it is in a huge theater, a little preachy for my taste, and over produced/slick.

Have fun at Sea World. We had a great time and enjoyed the shows.

We loved One Ocean (which features Shamu), Pets Ahoy (its simply amazing what those animals do!), Clyde & Seamore (get there early....the mime who entertains the crowd before the actual show is as good as the show itself) and Blue Horizons.

I would say all of the above are "must do's" in my book.

For some reason, we have yet to see Alure. :confused3

I consider A'Lure a must do, I've never seen circ du solei ($$$$ eek) but A'Lure is I assume the same thing on a smaller scale...it's pretty awesome! Usually you can catch it directly after Shamu, say Shamu will start at noon and end at 12:30 A'lure will start at 1 and you can walk directly from Shamu Stadium over to Nautilus Theater. That isn't always the case but I do find that to be true about 80% of the time so that's how I always work those two shows.

Clyde and Seamore are great too, if you'll be there for Summer Nights and only want to see one sea lion show I'd pick Sea Lions Tonight over the pirate show, but if you aren't there during Summer Nights or don't want to stay till dark the pirate show is cheesy cute (and yes, the mime is a must see!)

I think this one boils down to personal preference. We have been here a few days and did every show but a'lure and the night time sea lion show. Hoping to catch the sea lion show tonight! I have a 5 year old who has no interest in a people show when she could see an animal show.

Her favorite is Shamu Rocks. Pets ahoy is twice for us- if you are a pet lover than it is a must do in my book. They are all worth a watch once so if it fits in your sched I wouldn't hesitate to see any of them.

We were at SeaWorld last month and altho we didn't see a lot of the shows, Pets Ahoy was fantastic!!! And I'm not really a pet person. I liked it better than Shamu...

Dh and I spent one whole day at Sea World once JUST seeing shows. We weren't interested in the rides but we checked out the show schedules online before we went and I planned out the times of the shows so that we basically went from one show to the next with a break in there for lunch.

We saw One Ocean (The whale show) we saw Blue Horizon (the Dolphin show) and Clyde and Seymore the Sea Lion show. We saw Pets Ahoy and A'lure.

If you have never seen Cirque Du Soleil you might think it is similar but it's not really. It is a good show though.

Just remember to show up at the theater 30 minutes prior to showtime so you can get a good seat before the theater fills up.

In almost every show getting a seat in the middle of the theater about half way up were the best seats. Unless you want to get in the splash zone at One Ocean where the whales get you wet. Then you should sit way down front in the seats marked as the splash zone.

If you have kids that want to ride the rides and parents who want to see the shows you really should give yourself 2 days at Sea World.

You could do it all I guess if you went at opening and stayed until closing.

But we don't like to stay in a park 10 or 12 hours.

Just wanted to post back with what we decided to do. DD only wanted to see the Shamu show but I talked her into Pets Ahoy and the sea lion show as well.

Shamu was excellent and I think we both would have enjoyed seeing it again.

I thought the sea lion show was just ok. DD seemed to like it. The mime before the show was absolutely hilarious and to me, better than the show itself! I can't believe he got away with some of the things he did. A great comedian!!

We both LOVED Pets Ahoy. I am actually not a pet lover at all but this show was so cute and hilarious. I highly recommend it.

We never made it to the dolphin show but walked by when it was going on and saw a bunch of aerialists spinning around. We didn't see any dolphins and DD decided it looked boring since there were no dolphins in that part.

Hope this helps others!

Oh man you missed one of the best shows. Don't judge it just by walking by. If you go back be sure to see it I promise you you won't be disappointed. the dolphins are in and out and its a whole story they tell through it all.

Thanks for letting me know. We loved the park and will definitely go back in the future so I will put the dolphin show on the list. I don't know that we could have fit it in anyway. We were there from opening to 7pm. We did everything except Sky Tower, Jewel of the Nile (closed at one point and 50 minutes when we left), dolphin show and A'lure. We were exhausted at 7 and didn't feel we could stay any longer. We had a great day there!
