There's a few private tours at Sea World that only take a couple hours of your day. That way your hubby and son can do other things while you enjoy the interaction, or they can watch from the sideline. Like the Bulaga whale experience, they take you to the side of the tank, and you sit on the ledge. They show you different commands to give the whales, and they do them for you, you also get hugs and kisses and splashes from them. Wet suit is provided, and a photographer will take pictures for you (I don't know if the prints are included though). And your hubby and son can watch from the regular veiwing area on the other side.
If you decide on Discovery Cove it's about 200$ per person, the swim with dolphin experience is a seperate price and optional. It a very private water park, only about a 1,000 guests max for a day. You'll also get like 7 days of free entrances to Sea World and Aquatica. But some one who's done it could tell you more about what you get with it.
I think it would be better to do a Bulaga Whale experience, and then a Dine with Shamu for Dinner, so you'll get a private section to sit in for the show. Sorry it's not in the splash zone. The food at the table service is very good and worth it, the food at counter service is so so. I've had a few good meals but nothing that tasted great and was worth the price.
Take advantage of your second day free as well. It's hard seeing all the shows in one day, because they have a way of scheduling shows so they're at opposite ends of the park. So plan on 1 show per hour. 1/2hr show, 15 minutes prior to get a seat, and 15 minutes afterwards to get to the next show.
Unless you plan on being here for like 2 weeks, plan what you want to see and don't be dissappointed in what you don't see. It's very hard to cover all the bases in one trip.
The halloween spook-tacular is every weekend in October, and it's included in the admission. There's also the Mickey's not-so-scary halloween parties at Disney, that's about 40-50$ per person, seperate admission.
