I'm a self-confessed roller coaster chicken who is trying to reform. I've done all the WDW coasters - including R'n'RC (but not yet Tower of Terror). I've also done relatively tame Busch Gardens rides - Scorpion and Python. I'm trying to work my way up to bigger and scarier rides. :guilty:
To judge what to go on in what order, I'd really appreciate your thoughts on what Seaworld and Busch Gardens coasters are scariest (if you can compare with R'n'RC that would give me something to judge against). I particularly dislike the 'droppy' feeling you get in your stomach.
Thanks for your help rehabilitating me :thumbsup2

Bumping because I really want to know the answer to this (and if any are classed as really rough ie bash your head fromside to side and batter your ears!)

I'll talk roller coasters! I love em' :)

I haven't been on Rock N Roller Coaster (can't wait to try it though!) I also don't like that "droppy" feeling. Believe it or not the Only ride I experienced that feeling on lately was Gwazi at BG(totally didn't expect it either)....It's a wooden coaster & is a very rough ride-you feel like your going to fall off the track at any minute and actually I couldn't wait for the ride to be over. The other roller coaster's at BG & Kraken at SW are a much smoother ride than Gwazi. OK, so as far as rating the roller coasters: I'd say go on Kraken at Sea World first (I think it's the least scariest of all), then Kumba (oh and yes, this one is a bit rough, bangs your head from side to side a little but overall it is Great - A Long ride & good all the way thru!), Montu next (Intense!), then last but definately not least Sheikra (Super Intense BUT a Short ride). The first drop-the big one-when it holds you at the top, then drops you strait Down I thought I'd get that droppy feelin' but didn't....I got to the point to where I didn't think I could take it (the drop) any more then it was over...I had to psyche myself out for this ride (I think mainly b/c I'm kinda afraid of heights-I almost didn't go on Sheikra b/c of it & that NEVER happens with me & roller coasters). I'm sure others' opinions will differ from mine. Hope I helped some! Oh I forgot to add Gwazi in on my list....maybe try it after Kraken (ugh, I dunno it's tougher than I thought to rate roller coasters - Maybe skip Gwazi all togeher - NAAAAA! :)) Have Fun!

Your thoughts on Gwazi fits with my DS's view - I don't trust his opinion though because he likes to see me suffer :teeth: He became a roller coaster addict on our second trip to Florida in 2002. He thought Gwazi was really rough and droppy - never wants to repeat it. :guilty:

You sound similar to me in terms of heights (I don't think I'm very scared of the height itself - just the thought of the drop). Kraken seems really high - but I take your advice about going on it first. Sheikra sounds a bit alarming - I'll see how the others go first. I'll pluck up courage to go on Tower of Terror first and see what a big drop is like first. ............maybe ;)

In this case your son was right! :) Although, others' DO love Gwazi. Some friends of ours went to BG recently & they said that was their Fav. ride :confused3 I couldn't believe it - I guess they liked the drops & roughness of it all. Not me, I'll take the new, smooth coasters over the "old-school" rickety(sp?) type coasters Any Day!

As far as the height on Kraken....Now I'm re-thinking the ride that's least scary. It is definately a toss up between Kraken & Kumba - Maybe Kumba would be a bit better for ya....It's hard to say-Kraken does seem higher but a shorter ride & Kumba doesn't seem quite as high (?not sure) But it IS Longer! For sure try one of those two first. I say which ever park you end up at first-Just Go For It! :thumbsup2 Then, do the more intense Montu, Sheikra Later!(when you're a coaster veteran:)) Would you ever try Gwazi you think?

I also haven't been on Tower of Terror. It's been a Long time since I've been to MGM....Next year it should change (we have our SW/BG/Ad.Island passes this yr) But next yr. we're getting Disney AP's - Yippee!

I don't know what that droopy feeling means, but I love pretty much all rollercoasters and BGT and SWO has some of the best ones, my fav's.

1.Montu BGT
2.Kraken SWO
3.Sheikra BGT
4.Gwazi BGT
5.Kumba BGT

The rest of their coasters like Cheetah Chase and Scorpion are some prety good family coasters, Python is also good,(if you like to bump your head)

1. Kumba (back row)
2. Kraken (back row)
3. Montu (front row)
4. Sheikra (front row)
5. Gwazi (back row)

all but Gwazi are B&M coasters, so the first three have the same elements, just in different arrangements. Sheikra's one of a kind.

My family has gone to BG since my youngest was 3 or 4. He went on his first "big"coaster when he was 7 when his cousin 5 years older than him was down here on vacation. He was too scared to go on Kumba so they took him on either the scorpion or python. It was really a bumpy ride and he kept bumping his head. He hated the coaster! 2 weeks later he went on Kumba and loved it. It is a much smootherr ride than the smaller coasters in the park. The wooden coaster is probably my family's least favorite and they usually just go on it once each time we go. Kumba and Montu they ride over and over . Kracken is their favorite ride probably cause we are at SW so often.
As for Sheikra the ride is way scarier if you are in the front seat so if you might want to make sure you are in a mid row seat for the first time on it.
