Is there any advantage to purchasing annual passes on-line vs at the gate?

I think if you purchase online you can just go to the kiosk to print your ticket vs going to the ticket window.

Make sure you don't buy in advance though as the day you buy is the day the ticket starts. This is different than it used to be.

Yes!! I am heading to sea world San Diego in August then fla in dec and can’t book any experiences with the discount without having activated AP first .. but if I purchase now to activate discount fit experiences it won’t ve valid still on the following summers trip .. ugg

This is just the question that I was going to ask! I almost bought three APs but then thought that I had better check whether they are activated upon purchase or on first use at the park. Thank you for sharing this information.

At least one big advantage will be using the kiosk. The lines at the window to purchase tickets can get very long in the summer, so you could spend up to an hour waiting just to buy your pass. While I have seen lines at the kiosk they are much shorter (think 2 person deep versus 100 person deep) and move faster.

If you buy it now they have a massive saving, something like 30% off from memory.
Won't get that at the gate.
