If all goes well, we will do a cruise in December with a few days to spend at parks after. We have never been to SW but looking at our schedule we would need to do Seaworld the day we do the MVMCP Would that work? If they offer a special for next day, we might be able to go back for a bit since we wouldn't need to be at airport until @4. This would be a Friday (possibly Saturday too) in December. Thanks

It's doable, but you might feel tired & not enjoy MVMCP as much. Personally, I would have a resort day & then go to the party and enjoy it.

On certain dates there is Sea World Christmas where there are special shows at night that are included in your admission. Special meals are extra. We did not know until too late our last trip and had already booked CP at EPCOT so we could not stay for it.

I think Seaworld at Christmas time is one of the best events in Orlando. I have heard higher praise for the Seaworld Christmas celebration over the MVMCP. All the Christmas shows and activities take place at night and are all included with park admission. There is an Ice Skating show, a special Christmas shamu show, A special Christmas Sealion show, a Christmas sesame street show, a Christmas themed fireworks show and one of the highest rated shows if not THE highest rated show in Orlando for Christmas is called O' Wondrous Night which is a show about the story of Christmas through the animals point of view.

There is also Christmas decorations, tons of holiday food and activities and also a ride called Polar Express experience which is a motion simulator ride set to scenes from the popular movie.

I know you said you want to do Seaworld during the day, but I would consider doing Seaworld at night and maybe skipping MVMCP. Also, when are you planning to be in the Orlando area? Seaworld only has it's Christmas celebration on certain nights in December so I would double check that the night your visiting, the Christmas celebration is being offered. That will probably play a big part in your decision.

If you decide to do Seaworld during the day, I think it can still be a memorable experience. Seaworld is a slow paced park and very relaxing, so you could possibly do Seaworld during the day and MVMCP at night without any issues.

Couldn't agree more with KBF SW christmas is a really nice event with fun shows.

I also agree that running around SW all day and then doing a late party you might not have as much fun.

If you could do one whole SW day that would be great. And do a resort day for the day of the MVMCP.

Thank you for the replies. Wow! The Christmas events at Seaworld sound amazing. We had tentative plans on doing Epcot on Thursday after getting off cruise. Not only is it our favorite park, we have never been there at Christmas. I was really hoping to do the MVMCP Friday night mainly for my daughter's sake. Last time we tried to go we had to leave after an hour because my son ate something that made him really sick. She was very disappointed. But after hearing about SeaWorld Christmas specials, my next step is to find out which nights they are doing the Christmas shows. So many choices...so little time...

Thank you so much for the details about Christmas shows. I was talking to DD about it and I think we may skip MVMCP for a full day at SW.

I have seen that you can get a ticket for the next day pretty cheap. Can we decide that after we have been at the park for awhile or do we have to make that decision when we enter for the day?

Cynbeth the second week :)

Thanks again. :)

Yes you will be ok to wait until after your in the park to decide if you want to return for a 2nd day for 10$. You have til the end of the day to decide.

The christmas shows will be on fri-sat on nights they close at 9pm or 11pm. I believe starting the 13th its everyday.

We will be there from 12/7-12/15. Where are you staying? We are doing a split stay between WL and CR.

We are still working on details (actually only thing booked at this point are the plane tickets ) but sounds like we will be there at the same time. It is looking like the 13th for Sea World for us as well. :)

The 13th is a Friday, so you will more than likely be at Seaworld on a day where the Christmas shows and activities are taking place.

Here is more info on the Christmas celebration....

That's why I picked that day. Our last trip a few years ago ago we didn't know about it and had booked CP at EPCOT so we got to do Polar Express but could not stay for the evening shows. We figured our best shot for this trip would be 12/13 but the info is still not out yet as to the specific dates which is a little frustrating.

Just an FYI if you check on U tube a lot of SW Christmas Shows are on there .

Like the Candlelite Processional even the Shamu Miracle Show has mostly religious songs about the birth of Christ, as does O Wondrous Night.
Sea Lion show and ice skating shows have more of the commercial type songs.

The Santa inside Wild Arctic( Polar Express) is usually one of the best I have seen. BTW Polar Express has really cool theming and the Wild Arctic pre-area before you get to the polar bears is transformed .

The Trees on the lake are absolutely beautiful when they do the show. The lights they hang in most of the trees around the park make the night look so magical and beautiful.

And if you like old fashioned Christmas cookies....SW is the place to get them. Yummy....better than mine and I make pretty good ones myself.
If you do the all-day dining they can be picked as a snack or a side any time of the day. It was just so cool sitting out on the patio by the lake eaing Christmas Cookies with hot chocolate watching the dancing trees on the lake.

Also even during the day you will notice the decorations. There are different color trees in different sections of the park. There is Shamu santa etc. etc.

I am scared to tell my kids this extra info. They are already soooooo excited. Thank you so much for sharing. -squeals- So excited. So glad at asked here. Such great feedback. I think we will take the $ we would have spent on MVMCP and do the pass for all day dining and preferred seating etc. Has anyone done that? Is is worth the money?

There is candlelight processional at SW. I didn't know that. I must have missed it last yr. We did miss shamu cause it ended at the same time the skate show was starting and we wanted to get good seats for that since the fireworks and new yr countdown was right after that.

No there is O Wondrous Night a telling of the Christmas story using puppets. I said like Candlelite Processional just comparing it. It uses religious songs..... meaning it isn't just Jingle bells type songs just like the Candlelite processional (at EPCOT)is only "church" type songs. Should add though that many of the songs are up beet with lots of dancing and moving around the stage so it is a fun and funny way to tell the story. You don't feel like you are in church. Kids will be entertained. It is cool when they replace the puppets with real animals. It is a beautiful production.
I just wanted to let people know it is based on the Bible just in case they were not Christian and did not think it would be appropriate for them.
