Seattle questions?

DS wants to attend a convention in Seattle and then fly from there and meet us at WDW. How safe is the airport? and is there public transportation that can get him to the downtown area?

I have a hard time thinking of any airport as unsafe--by definition there's loads of security around.

But, yes, the Seattle aiport is very nice, lots of shops and restaurants.

Also Alaska Airlines has a nonstop to Orlando from Seattle.

The Metro bus (links given above) is fast and easy from the airport to downtown, about half an hour. It will cost less than $4 roundtrip. We live close to the airport and we take the bus in when we want to wander around Pike Place Market.

As the other poster noted, airports are generally all safe. Seattle Metro Transit has an "express" bus to downtown from the airport. The same route goes back to the airport from downtown. Route 194.

I've used it to get to the airport a couple times and it was a breeze. As far as safety goes, I wouldn't recommend that someone walk around downtown seattle at night if they aren't familiar with the area.

There is always Shuttle Express as well. If he's staying at a hotel downtown, a few of the nicer hotels have complimentary shuttles to/from the airport as well. Other hotels charge a couple dollars.
