I'll be in Seattle the second week of November (work related) for the first time ever.

I'd really love some idea of where to eat (love shellfish, hate fish) things to see, etc.

You gotta go to the Fish Market!!!! It is fabulous (not just for eating -- although, that's pretty dang awesome too) -- it's more about the ENERGY there. It's even been written up as a business How-to for employee involvement and empowerment.

If you have time and the weather's nice, the ferry to Victoria BC is a lot of fun too.

Be aware though if you drive -- the traffic anywhere along the I-5 corridor is INTENSE.

No driving, which is a bit weird for me. The company has a limo that picks us up at the airport and delivers us to the hotel. We take cabs or walk thereafter.

I'm guessing that walking is a viable option (to cabs) depending upon where I'd be walking to, of course?

The fish market sounds great. Thanks for the info!

Seattle is a Great City! It should not be that difficult to walk or use a cab if your hotel is downtown.

The "Fish Market" is actually part of Pike Place Market. It is a public market that has many different stands, from produce and fish/shellfish to art and crafts. It is a great place to get wonderful food and see a lot of interesting people. It is also the home of the original Starbucks.

Below the market on the waterfront are a number of seafood places. One of the more famous restaurants is Ivar's. They have excellent food and are well known for chowder. Nearby is a place called the Crab Pot. They have a special where they bring a pot of shellfish and dump it on your table. All you have to do is dig in and eat. I have never eaten there, but I often see a lot of people chowing down.

There are a huge number of restaurants around the city. You can find seafood anywhere. The better steakhouses are downtown (I like Metropolitan Grill!) If you want trendy food, then head up to Capitol Hill. If you enjoy Asian food, then head over to the International District. Finally, if you are into a very romantic (and somewhat long) evening, then try The Herbfarm! It is, in my opinion, the BEST restaurant in the Northwest. Check out the website for more information. It is pricey, but well worth the cost.

I hope this helps! If you have any specific questions, or want more information, please feel free to PM me!

Yes a most do is the Pike Street Market. Go down to the water front and have some clam chowder at Iver's. Great places to eat along the waterfront. Pioneer Square is a great place to wonder around also great night time entertainment at the Bars.

Pick up a copy of the SGN for place on Capital Hill to eat and bars.

Woodland Park Zoo is great if you are in to that and also the Seattle Aquarium.

I you want to just relax take the Seattle to Bremerton Ferry it's about 1 hour each way, there are a lot of fun shop and dinning in Bremerton then a relaxing ride back.

Go to the Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum at the Seattle Center, when there take a ride up on the Space Needle.

The Seattle Art Museum is a great place to go if are in to Art Museums

if I think of more I well posted it.
