Seattle Hotels for less that $300/night Recommendations?

There is a Silver cloud hotel near the stadiums (not far from the train station although you wouldn't want to walk with luggage) and also one on Capital Hill. Usually inexpensive but still decent. Hotel Max is another one that often has deals. The poster who stayed at the holiday inn near Seattle Center said Seattle felt run down - the area where that holiday inn is IS rundown (avoid staying at any hotels on Aurora) and I'm shocked that it gets away with charging $270 a night, but much of the rest of Seattle is lovely.

For others who can't find a decent hotel in Seattle and don't have an early train, I would suggest
renting a car and booking the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland. Kirkland is a suburb but it is the least suburban of our suburbs (has a walkable downtown area, wine bars, waterfront, etc). Its showing online now as $199 that weekend and it is a very nice hotel. The restaurant there, Trellis, is pricey but fabulous. On the weekends you can drive downtown from there in 30 minutes. If you have to stay outside the city, Kirkland is at least a nice suburb, unlike the airport area. It has buses to downtown but probably too much hassle for an early train with luggage.

+1 on Kirkland and the Heathman. Cute waterfront area with lots of shops and restaurants and parks, and a very easy and convenient bus route to Downtown Seattle.

After checking out the prices at many hotels in Seattle we looked at airbnb and found a great alternative for less than half the price per night. This will be our first airbnb but not our last. We also used them to visit Portland after Seattle. Found a really neat bed and breakfast place. Really looking forward to our visit Seattle and Portlan in June.

Whenever I have checked the SC Stadium hotel, when it has availability, it has never once been what I would consider inexpensive. Lucky you if you've found it to be so!

The stadium Silver Cloud definitely does vary. I've seen it under $200 and over $400. It depends a lot on what is going on in the area and they really jack it up when there are games. When there isn't an event, I consider it relatively inexpensive for downtown. I used the Broadway/Cap Hill one for some of my wedding guests and it was $140 (without a group rate) and everyone who stayed there seemed happy with it. There are a couple other locations too so it's often worth checking.
