I was wondering if anyone can suggest an affordable hotel in the seatac area that you can park your car at after your one night stay. I am flying oct 17 and returning oct 27th....I thought about driving down to seattle sunday night and catching the morning flight at 1030, ensuring a well rested family.

One hotel looked interesting (red roof inn) but only allowed 4 people in the room. And we have 3 kids.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Am I right in understanding that you're asking for a hotel that will let you park there for 10 days? If so, I have never heard of anywhere allowing that, and you'd almost certainly be towed, unless of course you pay for it each day, but it might end up being just as much as parking near the airport.

That said, SEATAC charges an arm and a leg for parking! When we lived up there in 2008 it was $26 a day I think! There are other parking garages in the area that offer shuttles to the airport every 10-15 minutes or so that were about half the price. You should definitely look into those.

Hi! I considered doing this as well! I am in the Whatcom County area and found out for us we can fly out of Bellingham cheaper than driving to Seattle. You might be able to have someone take you to the airport in Bellingham (BLI) and them taking your car back home. Just a thought. :confused3:

That being said, if you want to drive to Seattle the night before, use the Doubletree inn. http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US/dt/hotel/CTAC-DT-DoubleTree-by-Hilton-Hotel-Seattle-Airport-Washington/index.do They have Stay and Fly packages. I don't remember the cost, but it was fairly reasonable and they shuttle (complimentary) to the airport.

Hope this helps!

Well I can tell you to avoid Best Western Executel. It was extremely uncomfortable. Tiny room, hard beds and paper thin walls. Worst night's sleep of my life (and I also have 3 kids).

I hope you'll report back on where you end up staying.

The ParkSleepFly website is VERY cool - thanks for posting this! I've run across various hotels in our area that have the option to stay a night and then park your car for a specific number of days, but it's a great resource to have those details all in one spot. Thanks again!

I've seen signs around the hotels by Seatac that if you stay there you can leave your car and pay a very small price like $5-15 per day.

Another idea is to go on seatac website I think they show area hotels and then go to the hotel website to get more info.

We stayed at the Red Lion. They have a lot right beside them where you can park your car. Actually they park it for you - kind of a combo hotel/long term parking lot operation. The Hotel was VERY basic, but was fine for one night. They shuttle you in to the airport, which is literally 5 minutes away. They pick you up when you return.

Decent deal all round.

We have stayed at the Best Western Rivers Edge. There is a rate to park your car there and they also will add days for a daily fee. The rooms were comfortable. The shuttle to the airport will pick you up based on time requested. We had good luck. We also stayed at the Best Western Executel (which someone mentioned was no good). It was fine for what we needed but their on site spots filled up and we had to park our car offsite which ended up being a bit of an production.

Hmm do you know if they allow 5 to a room? I tried online booking them and they said max guests exceeded.

We've stayed at the Red Lion twice with great success! Very simple!

This isn't a hotel/parking combo, but we just registered with Park N Jet and it works out to $6.40 a day to park there. Not too bad. If you stay at a hotel along the strip, just have the wife and kids take the hotel shuttle to the airport and you drive the car to the lot and park and take their shuttle to the airport. Not as convenient I know, but I really thought the price on the parking was good.

The last time we stayed overnight to fly out of Seatac, we stayed at the Radisson and it was awful! Great location, but our whole family HATED the sleep number beds, or the air mattresses. Hardly slept at all. So uncomfortable. Would have actually got more sleep staying at home and then driving in the middle of the night to catch the flight.

Hope you have a great trip!

Also try the Holiday Inn Renton - they have a 14 day park and fly package (with shuttle to the airport, about less than 10mins away.)

Worked well for us when we went to WDW for 11 days :)

We did the Red Lion about six years ago and it was a miserable experience. The walls were paper thin and our young daughter was unable to sleep with all the noise we heard all.night.long with people coming and going. She literally was up all night long--not great when you're facing a cross-country flight with a baby. Then they gave us a hard time about wanting to install her carseat in their shuttle van. They wanted us to just hold her on our lap instead (we refused and they relented).

Anyhow, we haven't stayed there since.

If you can't find a hotel that does 10 nights that you like (most have 7 day parking, I think), or they want to charge too much for the extra nights, there are some very nice offsite parking locations -- way cheaper than parking at the airport.

I tried several, but now I always use MasterPark. They have multiple locations, frequent busses, and they have discount rate coupon online on their website, or, if you are AAA member, they have a AAA discount that even beats the coupons.

I park at B, which has complementary valet parking, and just flash my AAA card when I pay when I come back and pick up the car.

We usually stay at La Quinta for the night but then park at SuttlePark2. The one time we stayed some where else to use their parking - we were miserable. Wish I could remember the place.

Last year we drove down and stayed overnight at the Comfort Inn. I think it was about $130 for the room & 7 days parking...? Around that anyway. They offered a continental type breakfast in the morning - kind of wasted on us as we were too excited to eat. Yes, the grown ups as well as the kids :lmao:

Room wasn't anything special - two double beds - but it was clean and beds were comfy. And even with the extra cost of travelling to Seattle (from Victoria) we still saved about $500 over flying out :sad2:

We used - Courtyard by Marriott Seattle South Center - booked it thru AAA and it was $120ish. You can leave your car there for 14 days. We had 5 people in our room, 4 adults and 1 kiddo. The were awesome about shuttling us to airport and picking us up.

I am so thankful for all this info!! Will bookmark several for next time. Vancouver has some similar deals we use regularly - but this will be very helpful for flying out of SEA!
