Hello Everyone!

I have just stumbled across this web site and I am sooooooo excited to have found it!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!

We are sailing with my sister and her family, my parents, and an aunt (who invited herself along on the trip) I guess our excitement over the trip spilled a little too far and she told us she wanted to go too! :rolleyes1

My question is,,,,,we now have 11 people total - well, 10 chairs will be used at dinner plus one high chair for my sister's 16 month old.

How large are the tables??? Do they seat up to 11 people. My hubby and I have been on several other cruise lines - this is our first Disney, and we are soooo stoked! - I know large tables on other lines run on the average 8-10 people.

Will we have to break up or will they seat us together??? We booked the res at one time - so we're in the system together - all late seating - but, is it likely we will sit together or split into two tables that are close to each other???

:cool1:

First of all, welcome to the DIS! :)

I read in the Passporter guide to DCL that tables seat 4-20 people :earseek: I've never cruised with any party larger than 2 (me and DSis), but I would suggest making sure your TA (travel agent) or DCL knows this is your preference. They *should* be able to accomodate you, but I'm not certain on this. I'd put in a phone call asap to make sure they know this is what you want.

HTH (hope this helps).

We were a group of 11 last September, and they put 2 tables together, and it was like one VERY large one, and we were all together..So, yes, they can do this..

As Jen says, make sure your TA knows, and LINKS your reservations together, so you will be so... :goodvibes

Welcome to the boards. As stated above DCL can make the table big enough for all of you. You need to make sure your reservations are all linked together so you will be able to dine together.

We had a party of 19 for the July 9th cruise and they said they couldn't put that big together - but 11 should be no problem. There were lots of big table of 10-12. I didn't see up to 20, but maybe if we made a big deal they would have done it. We were told ahead of time that they would put the tables together for us, but then when it came down to it they said they couldn't. I did get the opinion if we REALLY complained they would have done it. We didn't want to make too big of a deal, and just sat 10 & 9 every night. Lisa

Our group is now up to 12 and when I questioned them about all of us sitting together - DCL stated that it was a done deal!

They do have some tables that seat 12, and if there aren't any available, they will push a couple tables together to make one.

We had a group of 12 and they pushed a couple of tables together, but the way they did it with the tableclothes and all, you could barely tell. They did leave both table numbers on the table, which confused the hell out of my brother-in-law, but other than that there were no problems.

On one cruise, we were seated as a party of 18 at one table. I think the only restrictionis that each serving team handles about 24 guests. More than that and they have to split you between 2 teams.

Welcome to the disboards.......Here's a pic of our table last November.....Thanksgiving Western

Spoke to my TA today who called DCL to request a table for 12.. DCL told TA that it could not be done.. TA is going to call back to check again...

The majority of the tables seat 4, they just push table together to provide enough seating, so any multiple of 4 is possible.
We had a table of 20 next to us, we were a table of 4. I wonder if Disney is now restricting table size so the wait teams don't get overloaded. I never counted, but I suspect their is a specific ratio of diners to wait teams that they like to maintain. Seems our team has the 4 of us, the table of 20, and a table of 6 if my recollection is correct, so about 30 is the max.

See,,, that's why you guys rock!! Talk about helping to build excitement, and to lower anxiety!!! Thanks for the pic, Lampskies!!!
