We are going on the Magic with a group of 8 other people. Have never been on a disney ship. How is the dining set up. Will they seat all 10 together or will we be split up? Also - in Palo - how many to a table? Thanks.

In the regular dining rooms they can definitely seat 10 together. We had 14 and were at one table. You must call DCL and request that all of your reservations are linked for dining and that you request a table for 10. It cannot be guaranteed, of course, but you will most likely get it.

As far as Palos, they have a separate room with a very large table which we sat at with 10 people. We were one of the first ones on line upon boarding and were able to get right up to Palos to request the separate room for our Party. We booked it for the Brunch. I suggest you do the same, meaning figure out what day you want to eat there and be there when they first open up for reservations.

We were a group of 11 this July on the Magic. They set us up with 2 tables right next to each other for 7 and 4. We let the kids sit together at one table. It worked out very nice for us.

We were 13 and all sat at one large table, all the kids sat at one end and the adults at the other.

At Palo's there were 7 of us, when we arrived for our ressies we had to see the manager for our ressies. Any party of 6 or over the manager makes the ressies.

Hope that helps

I'm going to try for Palo ressies for 8 on the 10/3 Wonder. Did you stand in line with everyone else and were then told to see the manager, or did they have a separate line for large groups?

There were only about 3 other people there for ressies, so we were taken right away. Before you wait at the end of the line, go up and ask and if they tell you to wait in line, at least you know you won't be wasting your time.

One more questions I should have asked before: can I go alone to make ressies for the 4 cabins of people using their room numbers, or do I have to have 1 person from each room with me??

2 of us went and we made the ressies for 7 of us. 4 different rooms.

I was part of a group of 17 on the Magic 8/17. Our travel agent requested for us to be at one table or 2 tables next to each other. The first night we found out we were scattered around at 4 different tables. My table with my husband and one son was not even close to the others and my mother and other son were with strangers. We spoke to the head server MacLean(cute!!) and he was not able to do anything that night because the whole dining room was seated but he said it would be changed. The second night it was fixed and all 17 of us were at one table and it was like that every night of the cruise!!! Disney sure tries to please. Next cruise I am planning on faxing a reminder about our dining table request the week before the cruise to make sure everything is O.K.:sunny:

Who would i call??? We are a group of 19! the travel agent said we will be together. should i call someone at disney???

:bounce:

You would call the regular DCL cruise number or if you booked through the TA they should call. You definitely need to link all the ressies together so you will be seated in the same area.

I do not think they will be able to sit 19 all at one table. We recently cruised with 17 on 8/3/02 and we had three tables next to each other with the same wait staff.

Hope this helps.

Both times we have cruised with DCL, our parties have been seated together. The first time there were 14 of us and just last week a party of ten. We had reqeusted the PLA dining rotation, but when we received our key to the world cards we were given LAP instead. It was taken care of immediately upon boarding the ship, not only did they change our dining rotation we were also seated together.

What would be the advantage of requesting a certain rotation? Which is better LAP or PLA???

Our group is mixed adults and kids... 19 of us, and the adults want to go to Palo one night too
