seatbelts on Splash Mt. ?

Are there seatbelts in the log? My nephew seems to think there are lap bars of some sort but he can't remember. I'm nervous, because log flume type rides always make me feel like I'm falling out. Anyone know?

There are no seatbelts but those logs are so deep that I never feel like I'm going anywhere, they feel very safe.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and noticed they replaced the yucky smelly leather handles with nice new plastic ones.

But yeah, The ride is very safe and you will not fall out trust me.
I do not think I have ever been on a irde that had sidebeats for the Flume rides.

Do you sit side by side or one in front of the other on Splash? I've seen it both ways (like space Mountain) so I figured one was DL and one was WDW. For Space I know it's one in front of the other but I'm not sure about Splash.

Splash is two people side by side in a row and there are several rows in a log.

don't worry about falling out... this is my favorite ride at mk! i love splash mountain.

I usually hide behind my wife on the big drop on Splash. Makes for an embarassing photo!

If you are thinking about what happened at the Steel Pier, I think SM's water system works a little differently. If the ride shuts down I noticed that they make sure the water is running first then the cars go. If I read The Press right there was no water in the tank at the bottom.

It important to point out that the Splash Mountain ride system is far more advanced than the one at the Steel Pier. Splash Mountain can actually safely operate with no water on the drops, and at times they do operate like this. Each Splash Mountain log also has wheel sets that attach to tracks at various points along the ride.
