Has anybody heard any rumours on upcoming seat sales? Right now, just to get to Florida, it would cost my family of four a minimum of $3600 and that's just for airfare!!!:scared1: It's not like I am flying from the other side of the world; I live in eastern Canada. I'm getting anxious....I would hate to have to cancel my upcoming August trip!:scared1:

You're traveling at one of the busiest times of the year. If I were you, I'd buy my tickets as soon as possible (actually would have purchased as soon as I set the dates for an August trip). While you never know what will happen, it's highly unlikely you are going to see any bargains for travel in August.

Are you flying out of Halifax? You can get decent fares on United out of Halifax for August (under $500 each). Not sure if the link will work, but here's what I found on Expedia... I've been searching for flights from St. John's and the prices are terrible!

I'm looking at St. John's too. I think last year the rates came out the first week of April but with oil/gas prices the way they are...... I'll wait and see what the next couple of weeks will bring. Fingers crossed!

PHL - MCO 8/19 - 8/28 SWA
Early flight out ,late flight return NS = $484 per RT :scared1:

Last year we paid $2500 for the four of us at the end of August.....if I could even get close to that, I would be happy.

Keep checking back. Fares do go up and down like a roller coaster.

Hint: Try looking on a Tuesday or Wednesday for travel on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

I live on Canada's East Coast as well. We are driving to Portland, ME (4 hours from my house) to fly Airtran for our October. We got our flights for $94 each way (just booked this morning!). :) LOVE Airtran, this will be our 6th time using them and have never had any problems, nothing but great service. They even changed some of our flights for free when we had a death in the family and some members of our party flew home earlier than expected.

:confused3 We fly in August every summer and our flights are always very cheap compared to our Feb, April, or Dec flights. Prices for flights from Upstate NY always drop in early summer for August. We have gotten $69 - $89 one way for August every summer for the past 4-5 years.

Unfortunately, because we live on "the rock", it costs a small fortune to get anywhere! I'm checking every day and hoping for the best.:thumbsup2

I just booked our airline tix today. I've been searching for awhile including SWA. We love SWA b/c of their generous allowances but this year, we cannot use them. They are way too expensive ($650 for two of us at desired times of travel). They might lower their prices and you can get credit back but it's taking a chance and I don't like that. :sad2:

I'm going 9/24(Sat)~9/30(Fri). I know I will be travelling during the weekend which makes tix more expensive.
Anyways, Delta had PHL-MCO (leaving 7:30AM) 1 stop at ATL so arriving MCO 12:27. $79+tax
US Airways MCO-PHL non-stop:thumbsup2 $106.05+tax

There are two of us travelling so everything came around $450 for RT.
It's first time we are doing stop over somewhere but it saves over $120 for two.

I soooooo wish that we lived in an area that could get us those airline rates. I'm soooooo jealous!:headache:
