That post is not for all departments... talk to your specific managers regarding the processes for your department. It's not difficult as long as you have a good record and are supported by your Leaders.

I think it depends on the area that you work in. When I was a CP all Character Attendants went seasonal unless they requested other wise. I knew a lot of people who were seasonal.

What if you want to go part-time or full-time after the program? Can you just be transferred or do you need to go to casting or what? Or what about if you want to go seasonal in another area. My college program I got QSR but after I really want to transfer to hotel front desk! Any suggestions? Thanks

Once you are into your program you can talk to your leaders about going full time or part time, in your casting, where I worked it required applying and you did not know what park you would be at. You can choose to try to extend into another role as a CP, or apply to stay on in a full time or part time position in another role. I know when I did my CP that there are some positions that were wait listed like FSFB. I know some people who were trying to get into resorts, and it took them a while to get offered the position, they were already full time, in attractions and QSFB. Once they were into hotels they have been able to move around a lot. One of my really good friends was opening cast at Animation.

How do you apply to be a seasonal cast member if you are currently a CP?

In the case of merchandise CMs at Sunset Blvd our leaders went to each CP about a month before the end of our programs and asked if we had any interest in going seasonal and those who said yes were giving specific instructions on how/when to do so.

At the Emporium this time around our leaders informally gauged how much interest there was in going seasonal and just recently said that there will be a sign up sheet posted. The managers here have direct control over who they want to keep.

If you do go seasonal how long until you get more main gate passes?

Maingates are refreshed on Jan 1st each year. However, seasonal Cast Members' passes are deactivated until they complete their first shift in the new calendar year. If you work Jan. 1st, then it'll get turned right back on.
