Headed to USO 4/3-4/6 so I’m considering buying seasonal APs for the family. What’s the deal with concert blockout dates? Is it not access to the concert or to the entire park? I can buy one Power Pass (to get the room discount) and buy the buy two days get two days tickets from UT for the rest of my family.

The bonus with buying APs for all of us is that we will be eligible for the 15 month time period. My ILs live in Florida so we sometimes tack on a few days in Orlando to a visit to the grandparents.

Oops found the answer! Looks like I’d be blocked from USF because of the concert (mardi gras) so I’ll go for the Power Pass

You can buy the UT tickets to gain park entry then on your last day go to the counter and exchange them for seasonal passes. You’ll still be able to get into park your last day even though you exchanged the tickets for the seasonal pass.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve done that before but the trick this time is the timing. In order to get the 15 month promotion for an annual pass they need to be activated by 4/4 and I think our dates coincide with blackout dates for USF.

Any idea if I would still get the 6 months free if I upgraded to the preferred pass once I get there? I don't really want to buy it now, but I also don't want to risk missing out on the promotion. I'll be there March 1. Also, it says the preferred pass has blockout dates for early park admission, but I can't find a list of those dates. Would a concert day be one? I would rather upgrade on Friday when I get there because I'll be solo, and joining the group Saturday. But obviously don't want to be left out of EPA.

I’ve upgraded in the park from a UT ticket to Power Passes twice before with no issues. You can check the USO website for all the blackout dates. I think the concert days are only a seasonal pass issue?

You should be good on the extra six months as long as you activate the pass before April!

Thanks. The website that mentions the blackout dates for EPA https://www.universalorlando.com/we...-passes/promo/index.html#3-park-annual-passes just links to the info for which days EPA is scheduled and only goes through Feb 28. The app does have EPA dates further out but I can't find any reference to being blacked out specifically to that. I guess I'll just assume that means nothing is blacked out and they only use that during Christmas time.

*Edit* Never mind, I did find a link that specifically lists the dates for APs EPA. Still only goes through Feb 28, but every date is listed. I won't worry about it. https://www.universalorlando.com/we...ses/early-park-admission/index.html#preferred
