Disser Marciemouse ask on the Disneyland Dining and Review thread "We're WDW vets, fairly new to DL, having been twice just this year. We're going again in December and taking my dad with us. We'll be there the 9-13. When does the seasonal menu price increase go into effect?"

I'm also aware of this at WDW, but don't know if they do this at DLR.

Does anyone know if DLR increases prices during peak seasons and drops them during value seasons?

It does happen on occassion at the Table Service Restaurants.

Unfortunately, there are no specified dates when it occurs each year. In addition, both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort decide on this matter seperately depending on their own specific business needs. As such, dates that apply to one may not apply to the other.

I didn't notice seasonal pricing on any of our trips, however that doesn't mean it wasn't there. It just means I didn't notice it. LOL

I believe character meal pricing increases around Thanksgiving/Christmas and in peak summer but could be wrong.

I am interested though since we will be there during holiday time.

Pretty sure this is right, I just don't know what the dates are.

me too and I wonder if I buy my character meal lets say on getawaytoday.com at a discount , will it still work?

Yes.

Never been sure of this either, but here have been our experiences. Two years ago we went to Goofy's the week before Thanksgiving week, no seasonal pricing. CM on the phone told me it would be seasonal pricing starting that Saturday before Thanksgiving, so I'm guessing that it's for Thanksgiving week. Seasonal pricing seemed to be in effect the week between Christmas and New Year's the year we did that but not as early as Dec. 18-21 the year we picked those dates. Definitely seasonal pricing in summer and the two weeks around Easter but don't know if it starts sooner or extends longer through spring break.

Character meals are the only meals I have noticed having seasonal pricing at DL.

Yes the Character meals cost more around the holidays ~ yes the vouchers available from GAT ARES & LMT will work.

I have to say I guess I been in the dark on the pricing thing. but until skiingfast mentioned it I had no idea that the prices on food and stuff tend to be a bit higher around peak times and holidays! I figured it was only the AP’s !

:magnify:

Yes the character meals are higher during peak times. I believe this summer it went into effect the first day of Summer Nightastic. For last Xmas it went into effect around the 18th of December.

I called this morning, but I didn't get all the prices. Right now Minnie and Friends is $23.99, in December it is $27.99. The price on both getawaytoday and lastminutetravel is over $30. Better to buy at the time and use your AAA card if you have one.

These are the prices before tax and tip (which they will add automatically when you pay). That makes the lower price $29.69 and the higher seasonal price $34.64. So during seasonal pricing, the getawaytoday price is cheaper, but might still not be worth it depending on whatever service fees get tacked on and how many tickets you need to buy.

I thought I read somewhere else that Disney is no longer offering AAA dining discounts. I haven't tried to use a AAA discount at Disney in years though, so I haven't tested this myself.

Correct. They stopped accepting AAA discount in January.

Just wanted to point out that they don't add a tip at the Minnie's breakfast. Just tax. :goodvibes
