and it stinks to say the least! I have tried both kinds of lights and neither have really worked for me very well. I did buy a natural light from Brookstone and it helped a little bit. I suffer with depression year round but it is worse during the fall and winter when it gets dark earlier and cold. They just up my medication in the winter and then reduce it in the spring and summer and it seems to at least make it bearable. I dont really know what you wanted to find out other than it is just a sadness that you cant shake. I do have some really good days when the sun shines bright and I can go outside in it. Those days I usually go for a long walk or a brisk run. Exercise seems to help a little bit as well even on the days when the sun isnt shining. It's just getting the energy and desire up to actually exercise that is hard.
