Like the ones you buy professional for real slides. They are kinda like a sleeve you slide your slide into. So it would be two separate pieces joined together or one piece folded. So a sleeve you would cut in half, front & back to make two frames or put foam inbetween to make the shaker.

Long winded, that was what I meant by sleeves.

Right, those are professional slide mounts. Those are acid free (as is any photo paper) since they are used for photo negatives. That's what I've often used as a backing. I've gotten them in bulk. I don't know that I will do that for these.

I know what I'm doing for designs, but I need to finish a couple of other swaps first. These won't take long to do.......That's my update, too!

Thanks for the updates everyone!!! I haven't started mine yet..but I know what I am doing.. I need to get through this hectic week w/ school activities; 4-H meetings, and the like.. I'll probably get a lot done on Wed. cause DH is going out of town.. NO reason for him to drive to the Chicago area and back in one day.. besides I think we need a little down time after spending the past 3 weekends together at basketball games!! WE were again one game away from qualifing for the state finals.. poor guys lost by 3 points.. we really won by 6 points had the first 3 shots not rolled around that darn rim and fell out! One more time to qualify this weekend. everyone send pixie dust.. these boys so deserve this...

Me too.. We have been one game away every weekend.. The boys get to the championship game.. that win will get us to state..and we fall short either 3-5points!!! These little guys want it so bad though.. you can see it... DS took on a boy that was twice his size yesterday..and earned the respect of the big boy because DS kept blocking him out and in his face jumping.. The big boy even told DS that he was amazed at how well he played and wasn't scared of him since he was such a little guy! (This 5th grader is 5' 10" already!)

OK, I went and bought the professional ones!!! Cause I didn't know any better!!!! LOL!!!! Anyway, you are all getting the "sleeve" version! Mine are all frames, I didn't do shaker boxes as I am not into shakers really... I like beach themed shakers with sand in them and shells, etc... maybe ones with snow?? But with other materials, they are cute and all, but I just haven't gotten into them!!! I think I just have 4 more to complete and I should be done and ready to mail!

I am not into shakers really... I like beach themed shakers with sand in them and shells, etc... maybe ones with snow?? But with other materials, they are cute and all, but I just haven't gotten into them!!!

Same here! Plus, often when I receive them, they are leaking all over the package. I often put something inside the frame, though, so it's like a framed square.

Please let me know if so, so I can stop making them if the glue is not holding. My prototypes are okay, but they are not going through the postal system.

Sometimes you get just the right gap in the "mounting" tapes that lets the little beads escape and such. I had one come in -in a recent swap.. so I kept it and made sure all the others were sealed nice and tight.. I hope they were all still sealed up good when they arrived to you. I still haven't fixed the one I received yet.. it'll be an easy fix but I haven't had time.. Before I send the slide mount ones out, I'll check to make sure nothing is leaking.

I was hoping that by using the foam cutting method, I would eliminate that problem with the sticky tape.

Yes, the foam craft squares should eliminate that!!!
Just sometimes when you are "butting" up the mounting tape.. there can be just the littlest gap that can cause problems..
