Which one is best?:goodvibes

1-going for just halloween

2- going for end of halloween and for bonfire night

3- going for bonfire night and beinging of xmas

How do they do this, do you just wake up the next day and all the theming has changed?

I have only been when it has been Halloween or Xmas not when they change over.

I know that they have one night to change it over to christmas so I assume it is the same for halloween etc.

I went one year before they did the halloween and we woke up and all the xmas decorations were up in the hotel but not the park and they had the bonfire set up in the lake ready.

I would love to go for the bonfire one year though.

I would choose option 3, because I love the Christmas season :goodvibes But I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to include the Bonfire Spectaculars in my plans - though if it fits in, then fine. Very well done, but it is only a half hour firework show, rather than a themed season, or even event - and there is always the possibility that it could be cancelled due to bad weather.

How do they do this, do you just wake up the next day and all the theming has changed?

From my experience of visiting on the last Bonfire night and as the Christmas season started, the change over is a gradual thing.

I'd forgotten about your Bonfire/Christmas trip Becky.
One of the dates I'm considering is the 8th - 11th November, which theoretically means we'd catch the last bonfire show 9/11(weather permitting) and the first day of the Christmas season 10/11, but I'm wondering whether everything will be operational on that day, more specifically will Fantillusion be running ?

DS's chose Christmas over Halloween as we haven't been before, but don't break up until 21st Dec. this year, it's got to be a weekend trip so they only miss one or two days at the most from school, but I'm guessing the further we go into the season, the busier it's going to get especially during the weekends.

Jill, there are no dates yet for the Christmas Fantillusion, though I am also hoping that it will have started by the 11th. Most of the decorations should be up by then, and Candleabration will, of course, be on already, so no need to worry whether the Enchanted Fairytale Ceremony will have started by then!

We went for the last few days of the christmas season a couple of years ago, one day the decorations were up and the shops were full of christmas stuff, and the next all the decorations were gone (the big static bauble decorations in front of the castle were boarded so you couldn't see them) and apart from a few christmas relate food items in the sales, you couldn't get any christmas merchandise at all.

I didn't realise that they would just be taking the christmas stuff out of the shops, so was after a few things, but the shops that still had a few items in the window displays said they weren't allowed to sell them to me as the season was over:eek:

It felt really magical that one day it was christmas and snowy and the next it was just cold :o:lmao:

Thanks everyone, i'm going to see how our new years trip goes and then plan something for halloween or maybe the beginning of christmas.:goodvibes i look foward to reading the halloween & xmas trip reports to help me choose.
