Anyone use Sears for roofing? I need a roof on a detached garage. The main reason I am considering Sears is because I can get 12 months SAC if I use my Sears MC. Any input would be greatly arreciated.

I don't know about using Sears specifically for roofing but I can say I do not shop at Sears any more. It has been years since I stepped foot into a Sears. We purchased a water heater from them which was a nightmare. After purchasing it, had a very difficult time taking delivery of it though we were told it was in stock. Then getting installed was another nightmare. Changing dates and times and not even showing up. Yet, I did buy appliances from Sears....dishwasher, fridge, oven and microwave. Only got the fridge. Again, could never take delivery (it's in the warehouse, it's on the train....) excuses went on and on. Got a Kenmore fridge (how stupid was I?) which has had nothing but problems. Again, getting someone to "fix" it was a nightmare. Left work early to meet them at my home, they never showed. That was the last straw. Sears (at least in my area) is terrible with poor customer service. IMO I would not trust them to do a job as large and important as a roof.

I have purchased a number of appliances from Sears and never had a problem. They installed a dishwasher years ago and it has worked without any issues for many years. My brother had them install new windows in his condo. I think they will be okay but I am just looking for others who have used them for roofing. I know they will contract it out. This is a detached garage so it is not on our actual house.

A co-worker had them remodel her home and was very happy.

I had them out for a bid, and the estimator was top notch, asked a few specific questions right up front about what we wanted, and was able to save us both a lot of time because Sears does not do Corian, which is what we wanted.
She has been with them for a few years, and doesn't know why they don't do Corian, and wishes they did, but they don't.

I wouldn't shop at Sears either. At the rate the CEO is running the company into the ground I don't believe they will be in business 10 years from now. They just closed their Seattle store. A sorry fall for a once great retailer.

You may already know this, but Sears employees won't perform the roofing task. Sears will subcontract your job to a pre-qualified independent contractor. Nothing particularly wrong with that, but there has to be profit margin in the deal for Sears as well as the contractor. So, you may find a more favorable price and better attention by seeking your own local contractor.
