Searching for glowing things to take to WDW

The search function is down so I can't look for this myself. In the past I've read posters speak of glowing necklaces, etc. that they buy at dollar stores or elsewhere. I've been to several dollar stores and I've only seen the regular 6 inch glow sticks. If you've found anything that kids would think is cool to tote around the parks at night please post. (I've already got the Light Catchers from the DS on 75% off. Now I'm looking for things for my 11 yo.)

If you've found the things I'm looking for please give the name of the store (ex: Dollar Tree, Dollar Express, etc)

Thanks!

I'm a meeting planner and we buy this type of item constantly. We get some of the best prices/choices at Oriental Trading. They have a website www.orientaltrading.com

Prices are pretty decent but you do have to pay shipping. They have necklaces, bracelets, rings, sticks...even tongue sleeves to make your tongue glow!

ENJOY!

Oriental Trading usually has free shipping if you spend over $60. I usually plan the year's favors( all birthdya parties for the kids, stocking stuffers etc) and buy it at once to get up to the free shipping. Either tht or I get a friend or two to split it with me. It is fairly cheap. The necklaces or cool for the kids. We bought them for cosmic bosling party and they were a bigger hit thean the candy.
I have seen them in party stores though.
Thes codes are available to the general public so I hope they are allowed.

I've gotten them at the Dollar Tree. Target had necklaces and bracelets I bought after Halloween, they also used to have them in the party supplies. If you have a Dollar Tree nearby, try there, I think I got 3 or 4 necklaces to a pack.

Target has those light-up ice cubes (you bang them and they light up, you bang them again and they turn off) that Disney is serving in expensive drinks at many of their restaurants. They aren't cheap ($10 for 4 ), but cheaper than the ones at Disney- and you could put them in your water bottles (check the diameter of the top first ). Kids and Adults love these things!

CHeck Ebay as well, you can probably get a small lot.

If you are in the PA/DE area, I can give you a name of a great store that has that stuff.

If you have any kind of a party store near you, they have them as well.

My husband is a DJ and he just bought a lot of 500 of them on ebay for 30.00! He left one tube of 100 at home for our kids and they love them! We use them all the time and at the Fourth of July fireworks, everyone kept asking us who we bought them from!:p I definitely plan on taking some with us to Disney to use in the parks at night! :)

Look in the birthday/card aisle at WalMart. We also have a Family Dollar in town that has the earrings and glowing mouth guard thingy. You might also look under "Carnival" in the yellow pages to find a place that sells carnival type prizes in your area....ours in Fort Wayne carries most of what Oriental Trading sells in their catalog.

I have bought them from websites, like glowfactory.com or something. I was buying 100 at a time for the neighborhood block party.

The necklaces would be almost impossible to bring to WDW, unless you drive. They are very fragile. I knocked over a tube that was 1/2 full in my laundry room, and accidentally activated 5-6 of them. (A full sleeve of 50 would be more sturdy, as they are tightly packed in the tube). I also bought the bracelts, they would be better to transport, much smaller. the sticks are best, though, perhaps. They last longer, are least fragile, glow more brightly, and we just put a string on them for an instant necklace.

Just wanted to let you know that I founds the necklace at walmart for $.88 each, I have also seen them at the dollar tree, and also everythings a dollor

I found a package of 3 pcs 8" lite stickes in A.C. Moores for $1.50.

I checked our Dollar Tree and they didn't have them. Maybe they are just temporarily out due to their grand opening and people buying them for the 4th of July. I'll call and ask if they're getting them in soon. We also have Walmart, AC Moore, party stores and Target nearby so I'll check there too. Thanks for the heads up about looking in the party supplies aisle, I would have just looked in toys.

Maybe Spencer's... if you have one in a local mall.

I do agree with this, they are very fragile, but I never think of posting this since we always drive to Disney! LOL :)

We will be driving, but thanks for letting me know how fragile they are. I'll pack them w/ this in mind. I'd hate to get down there w/ them all activated and "dead"!

We just returned from Disney, and I was armed ahead of time with Dollar Store glowing necklaces -- saved big bucks and my daughters loved them.

The ones I bought were not the least bit fragile -- sorry, I don't know the name brand -- the packaging was left in the hotel trash weeks ago. When I opened the packages, each little "stick" was packed inside a little tube. I packed them between clothes in a duffle bag and never even considered that they could have been broken.

I wouldn't buy the tounge glowy things. I teach high school, and I know what they mean among the teenagers -- not appropriate for children (or teens either, for that matter) . . . that's all I'm going to say.

I have yet to see the glowing light bulbs myself. I'll have to look for them at Target.

Oriental trading ( listed earlier) also has lots of great things to take to Disney, as well as glow items. The only drawback is you have to spend a bit to get free shipping, but you will probably find lots of cool things... Here is a list of the most recent codes they are offering. If you spend $60 , you can actually get $12 off and free shipping with the second code, not bad :)

Hope this helps! :)

Just want to mention if they break and the kids get the liquid in their eyes -- you will end up in the ER so be careful!

For those of us who don't have the "In" - what do they mean among the teenagers? My niece has them - should I warn my SIL? Sometimes we can be so in the dark (no pun intended with the thread topic).
