Search Engines such as Google

I do it to engage with people and sometimes the information can be more reliable than what I find on google. Sometimes what I find via googling doesn't answer my question and I look to someone with personal knowledge or experience.

I almost asked what BCE was today--then I was like, why not google. Then I figured out what it was so didn't have to do either. (BCE: Before common era. I don't see that often on timelines and dd was asking me and it threw me for a loop.)

I figure people who want to help will and those who don't and like to say "google is your friend" to be a smart aleck (as opposed to just joking around) didn't have to bother posting at all.

Plus how am I supposed to avoid a visit to the doctor's office with a simple google. I need the DIS docs for that.

Because they want to hear personal experiences - and often you can get an answer here much faster than sifting through all the stuff that google and other search engines will pull up..
