Just booked 3 nights at the BC for August. Want to rent searacers with the kids. I've read they have to be 12 or older to drive, will my 17 and 15 be able to drive the boat by themselves, or will they need an adult passenger.
From https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/motorized-boats Sea Raycer by Sea Ray® – seats up to 2 Guests; $32 per half-hour
Climb aboard and have a blast on these mini-speedboats. Drivers must be at least 12 years of age and at least 5 feet tall. Younger Guests may ride as passengers. Maximum weight: 320 pounds. Parent or guardian signature required for all drivers 12 to 18 years of age.
Although it doesn't specifically state it, my experience (20 years ago) was that as long as you could drive, you could go by yourself. Hopefully your kids are better drivers than my brother and cousin were at that age. They ended up crashing into each other and flipping one of the boats. The lifeguards were not pleased at all. I am surprised we are even allowed back. All though our parents were mad at the time, its a fun story to tell now.
