Can you view seals at any of the beaches near LA? We will be visiting Disney Land for a week starting Tuesday and will have a day to do something outside of Disney and was wondering if there was somewhere nearby that we could see seals.

Thanks in advance!

The seals usually hang out near the bouys out in the harbors.. Whale Watching is more common this time of year.

There is a beach south of Disneyland, in La Jolla, which is just north of San Diego, and it's a "safe" beach for seals where people can watch them, but cannot go near them. I have heard that you can see seals at that beach.

We have also seen seals below the cliffs at Point Vicente, and they have been known to come up on the beach - but it's not that common to see them on the shore.

I suggest looking into whale watching. There are some nice boat trips out this time of year. Or go to Catalina for the day and you might see whales or dolphins on your way in and out.

Definitely recommend taking a boat ride.

But if you're near Redondo & want to see some from shore, you can always see seals there.

Go to the south west end of Redondo Harbor by the Portofino Hotel & you'll see a bunch of them on a landing in the channel. (It won't be as close to MaryJo's video.) Or, rent a kayak & paddle by. You'll get great views then.
