Any recommendations for a good, reasonably-priced, child-friendly seafood restaurant in the St Pete's Beach or Clearwater Beach area?

Thanks!

Frechy's Rockaway on Mandalay Blvd. is my absolute favorite. I was born and raised in Clearwater and it Rockaway really has the beach restaurant feel. Mostly fried seafood basket/ sandwiches. Very reasonably priced. The restaurant is open to the beach so the best (but also busiest) time to go is at sunset. Another good pick with more menu choices is Crabby Bill's just off the Clearwater Roundabout.

Shells Seafood is a chain in Florida, but the food is excellent and well priced. There is a location in St Pete and in North Redington Beach (between St Pete and Clearwater). Other favorites of ours are The Wharf in Pass-a-Grille (just south of the Don Cesar and the Friendly Fisherman in Johns Pass Village (Madeira Beach).

There's SO much good seafood in the area. . . .enjoy!!:cool1:

Don't know the location (St. Pete Beach?), but comes highly recommended by my DB and DSIL - actually we'll be eating there tomorrow night. They recommend the Grouper sandwich. :thumbsup2

Dockside Dave's in St. Pete Beach. I believe it is on Gulf Blvd. The best grouper around. Out of anywhere in Florida, I chose to spend my birthday this year in St Pete, and have dinner at Dockside Dave's!

I believe that both of those Shells locations are now closed as part of the company's bankruptcy dissolution that occurred last year.
There are two or three Shells restaurants left that were not part of the chain but retained by the original ownership family and I think that at least one of them is located across the Bay in Tampa.

Thanks for mentioning that! I'm so sorry to hear that. We loved the food there. I'll have to try to find the location in Tampa before we head down in April. So sad to hear!:guilty:

Hello fellow Waukesha Disney lover! Welcome to the DIS boards---I joined this group several years ago and have never seen another person from Waukesha, so I just had to say HI!:goodvibes

As to OP's request----another vote for The Wharf in Pass-a-Grille! Great food--reasonable prices....but if you eat on the deck overlooking the intercoastal waterway, watch out for the seagulls! I've seen them snag people's meals several times. LOL!

Almost forgot about Woody's-typical beach bar type place. Not known for seafood necessarily but the best wings and drink specials on the beach at sunset! We go every year at least once!

I second Crabby Bill's :thumbsup2 . We ate there 2 out of three nights we were there back in 2007. Reasonably priced, excellent food, and a great atmosphere.

We also visited Crabby Bill's. Be aware that the portions are huge. I was staying in a hotel with no fridge, so had to leave half my meal behind. I would have ask my companion to split a meal if I had known.

We went there for dinner Friday night and the food was great! 4 out of 5 of us had the Grouper sandwich and it was delicious and HUGE!! Just wanted to note this place is very small and we waited about 20 min. around 6:45 at night but so worth the wait!!! :goodvibes

I agree that Frenchy's is good, for something a bit more fancy, (frenchy's is a bit real casual, as is Crabby Bills) try Salt Rock Grill on Indian Shores, between Clearwater, and St. pete. We also have a few good chains, Bonefish grill, Joe's Crab Shack, and Bubba Gumps, I haven't tried this one yet but have heard it's good.

She Crab soup at Frenchy's is TO DIE FOR!!!!

I'd also recommend the Hurricane, south of the Don CeSar.

Another vote for the Warf!
Oh and if your at disney there is a Crabby Bills in St Cloud about 30min in traffic away
