If you're skipping a day at Disney (gasp!) and venturing over to some other theme park, which is better for a group of 3 adults- Universal or Sea World?
I have never been to Universal but on our very last day in Orlando after we had gotten off our disney cruise we spent the day at Sea World. I remember as a kid it was the coolest place to go, I loved it. BUT I could tell that over the years either my interest had changed or the entire facilty was different. I felt that I wasted my money--the kids said they had fun, but they could have just said that too It was hot and miserable that day and the shows were halted due to lightening and also because the whales were not cooperating. IMO--I would try universal
Do you prefer animal shows and a couple of rides, to rides and a few shows. We have been to both DW. and DD.s when they where 1 and 2. We usually make a day at SW when we trek on down to orlando. Dw and I 10+ times since before and after DD.s came along.
Before we had children, my late husband and I visited Universal several times together. We always had a blast. IMO, Universal is tons of fun for adults. (I like Sea World, too, but it seems to appeal more to kids. Again, JMO.)
Nature lovers - do SeaWorld. Also, free 2 full size anheuser-busch beers at the hospitality center. Wonderful shows. A few big rides. Feed the dolphins and sting rays. Don't miss Shamu.
I just spent a few days at Universal, and I have to say I would rather go to Universal. I am right across from Sea World, and it just didn't appeal to me. I am not that big into shows. However, to really enjoy all of Universal I would take 2 days. 1 for each park. But that is my opinion.
Now that our DS(14) has gotten older we skip at day @ Universal (gasp! ) to go to WDW. Sorry, I couldn't resist with the "gasp". Take a guess what our choice would be. We do go to SW occasionally, & enjoy it. We don't feel a need to visit often. We find ourselves getting bored, if we go too often. Once every few years is enough for us.
DH and I really enjoyed Sea World more than Universal (we thought Universal was a tad bit overrated?? ), but friends our same age (30s) were fairly bored at Sea World. Sea World is much more relaxed and slow-paced and consists mostly of going from show to show. If you're into thrill rides, I'd suggest Universal.
I like both but I really like SeaWorld for a breather as it is a much slower pace. If you're looking for non-stop action, you may not like it but if you like to watch shows and wonder about freely without a rush to another ride, you may enjoy it.
With no other info to go on other than that you are all adults, I would recommend Universal. Especially if you consider WDW sacred ground. If your feet hold up, you should also walk around IOA. IOA theming is equal or superior to Disney's in some areas.
We have yet to do sea world, maybe this year. But! we have never been disappointed with USF or IOA, probably my favorite park in Orlando gasp did I say that well I do look forward to it the most,(as far as day trips go) just wouldn't want to do it for like 10-days in a row like i do at disney

Depends on what you like. We have always loved Sea World, Universal and Islands of Adventure. All three are oustanding parks..you will enjoy any of them.
