Can anyone on here tell me anything about Sea World San Antonio? Is it bigger or smaller than Orlando and San Diego? Is there much else to do in San Antonio? I am trying to think up other vacation destinations as my wife says we go to Disney too much:scared1: and only wants to go there every 3-5 years now.:worried:

My daughter also loves Sea World so i thought of San Diego but that is really far and really expensive from the east coast so then i thought i would look into San Antonio.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.:thumbsup2

Seaworld San Antonio is a little smaller than Seaworld in Orlando.

Seaworld San Antonio has the same Shamu One Ocean show, the same Shamu Rocks show, same Pets Ahoy show and same Sealion night show as Orlando but it has a different Dolphin Show, Sealion show day show, and has a show called Elmo Rocks which Orlando had in January but no longer shows.

SA has a Journey to Atlantis like Orlando, but it's a different Journey to Atlantis ride all together. SA has two other coasters different from Orlando. SA and Orlando have similar animal exhibits.

Both parks have an aquatica waterpark.

Here is a map of Seaworld SA

Here is a show and park closing schedule. Note that Seaworld San Antonio is a SEASONAL park. Which means there are some days throughout the year where the park is closed all day. This is indicated on the park closing schedule where the day is highlighted white instead of light Blue. I would call ahead of time to make sure your vacation day doesn't fall on a period of time when the park is closed all day. All dates in 2014 are highlighted white right now because the park hours are not available for next year yet.

We went in 2009. My Mom, who goes to Orlando a lot more than I do, says it is "nothing compared to Florida". The one in San Antonio is MUCH closer to home. I enjoyed it. We went in the spring time - I believe it was in April, and it was WINDY! ::yes::

Not as many people there in the spring as I have seen in the summer time. Back then (not sure about now) it was cheaper to do a season pass than it was to buy a two day ticket. There is a LOT to do in San Antonio, and I loved it there! Besides Florida, San Antonio is my second favorite place to be.

In the spring time when we went a LOT of things were not open because of it being spring and not summer, and there were doing a bit of a remodel in some places. A lot of the little outside vendor carts like where you get ice cream or drinks were not opened.

Not sure about rides, because I am not a ride person. I don't do roller coasters, and I have bad motion sickness problems. So I can't comment on that. I'm more of a walk around and shop type of person, and my Mom is more of a show type person. She liked the shows there, but said they were not as good as Orlando.

Been too long since I have been to the one in Orlando for me to comment on it. :confused3

I'm contemplating San Antonio for April school vacation 2014. Sea World, Aquatica, Six Flags are all there. I also recall a trip there about 8 years ago that we went to a pretty cool drive thru zoo and some underground caverns that was awesome.

They also have Riverwalk, the Alamo and all the other tourist stuff in that area.
