Sea World - one or two days

Hello to all you SW lovers.

I'm headed to WDW in July and i'm wondering if SW is worth two days... we are not huge thrill people but would like to see all the shows.

I have two days, but if it really is a one day park, i would like to spend the other day in WDW.

I'm going for 14 days of fun... plan on doing both Water parks at disney, Islands of Adventure in Universal,discovery cove swim with the dolphins and i have an 8 day park hopper... just wondering about SW.

I think you could do SW in a single day and only trick would be making all the shows depending on their schedules...that may be a little tough. Since you aren't thrill people, that leaves out a few rides but you could use that time to head for the shows instead.

If you have two days to spare, I would say use them both at SW. The park is really big and sometimes just walking back and forth between shows can take A LOT of time. The show times sometimes run at the same time as well so making all the shows in one day is difficult. If you do decide on just one day make sure you get there at opening and plan which shows you want to see the most, I think Seaworlds website may have a show schedule for each month, I know I found one somewhere . The Shamu Show and Clyde and Seamore are awesome so make sure you at least catch those two. I have been to Seaworld lots of times so if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

We were at Sea World Aug 08 and only spent one day. We never had a chance to ride anything, but did enjoy the shows. We would have loved to have had one more day because we didn't get a chance to enjoy everything SW offers. It really has grown into a FANTASTIC park and I feel well worth a 2 day stay. Have fun!
Oh, by the way, make sure you don't miss the Nubia "under the sea" show...AWESOME!!!

Just found this thread in my quest to discover what has changed at Sea World in the past 18 years since we have been there!

We are doing a 9 day DW trip in June, and plan on doing two of those days at SW. We have been to DW 3 times in the past 3 years, so we figure this time we will take it easy, and really want to take in everything at SW inlcuding the rides. (Also, figuring you get two days for the price of one when buying ticks on line makes it easy to go back).

I am SO looking forward to this as it will be the first time our 6 year old daughter has ever visited. I think she is more exicted about it than DW, LOL.

We went in 2006 and spent 2 full days. We found to really enjoy the park, the rides and all the shows 2 days was best! We actually went a 3rd day so we could feed the dolphins again. We had a 7-day pass.

Theres no way you could even begin to cover everything in 1 day if you want to see lots of the shows and exhibits. If it's a busy days you'll need to get to the shows 45-30mins early, then each show is about 30 minutes, so even if you just see the 3 biggest shows, Believe, Blue Horizons, Sea Lions that's 3-4 hours of the day gone, on these alone. 'A'lure...' the acrobatics show is really good as well and is in an indoor theatre so good for keeping out of the sun for 45 minutes of so.

As others have said it is a big park so going back and forth can take lots of time. SO with that said if I were you I'd do a day in the park, and leave around 5/6ish and then the next day arrive, 3-4pm ish and stay till close and get done anything you hadn't done the first day plus see the evening shows Shamu Rocks, and Mistify (I think there's also an evening Sea Lions show) Since your going in July I'd imagine theses are all on as it's high season.

You say your not a thrill ride fan, but I'd really recommend catching their new rollarcoaster that will be open when you arrive, Manta. They have one similar at a park near me in UK called Air, and once you get over the dangling bit it is so fun and really smooth and gentle more of a 'family ride' so I imagine this one will be along the same lines. Wasn't open for us but it looked great!

I think you'd miss out a lot on 1 day, and Seaworld is a great park so it's be a shame. Personally I think it is a great park far underrated!

I would suggest a second day if you want to see all the shows. While it is possible to see all the shows in one day it would mean studying their schedule and making choices quickly and moving from one to another. If you make some 'out of synch' choices you will not be able to see some shows depending on the specific shows involved.

Some shows have limited showing each day and some shows overlap each other and then you need to remember walking time-distance and getting there early (around 20 minutes) if you want to have a choice of where to sit.

Depends on the crowds in July, too. Sometimes during the summer, you see lines clear around the stadiums on really busy days and they announce that the 3 PM Believe Show is closed at 2PM, but then they may add another show after the last show scheduled.

Since with most tickets you can do the 2nd day free I would give 2 days to SW-if you liked it the first day and want to see the rest that you didn't have time to see the first day or want to repeat anything. I could go to 2 or 3 Believe shows a day when there. <g>

That is what we are going to do. We have never been to Sea World before. (Every time I read "SW" I read Star Wars! Just can't make it be Sea World!) We will be there one day before our check-in day at Disney. We will go on the day before, then if we need/want to go back it will be perfect because we don't do a Disney park on our check in day at Disney anyway. We just hang out at Downtown Disney & around the resort. I'm very excited about Sea World, btw!

It can be done in 1, but you don't see everything. We saw most in July 2007.

Like a previous poster, the free re-entry for a second day sealed our decision this past December. It was great to have the time to see all the shows (which we really enjoyed very much). We didn't have to worry about hurrying to the next event. And we spent some time talking to the SW employees, who were very knowledgable and friendly.
There's a lot of ground to cover...don't forget the clydesdales!
Definitely take two days if you have the time.

oh, forgot to note...your "free" day doesn't have to be the next day. I think you have a week to return for free.
