We were thinking of going to SW & BG in August for a couple of days. It seems like the fun card would be the best deal. Is there a catch? Almost seems like too good of a deal. Has anyone used this card? :sunny:

No one knows anything about the fun card?? :confused3

We had one for Busch Gardens and one for Sea World the year before we got our Gold Passes. With the card Florida residents could go all year for the price of a one day ticket. -no blackouts then (not sure about now). You had to have the pass and your driver's license each time to get in the park. I think now they might have the finger thing like Disney. Our passes had our pictures on them. Like the other person says You can't lose! It is for Florida residents only though, I just checked the site and it is not offered in the out of state visitors ticket section

Oh shucks. I must have missed the Fl residents only part. Thought it sounded too good. :)

This ticket is good for unlimited visits to SeaWorld during your Orlando vacation*. Simply visit the park and before you leave for the day, exchange this ticket at the Anytime Window inside the park for a personal pass that allows you to come and go as you please for the next week.

*Ticket valid for up to 7-consecutive days during regular operating hours. Non-transferable, restrictions may apply.

I actually have a Busch Gardens fun card and was told that it is no longer only for Florida residents.

If you go to the Busch Gardens web site, they only offer the Fun Pass on the web page for Florida residents to buy tickets. If you go to the Buy Tickets out of state the fun card is not offered. They required proof of residence on each time we used the fun card when we had ours too. You had to show your Florida driver's license and the Fun pass to get into the park everytime you went. .
Sea World's Fun card is also only listed on the Florida resident page. Having a Florida Resident and Out of State web page for buying tickets is new this year. You might want to check with Busch Gardens since you already bought one for 2006. I believe last year the passes were offered to anyone no matter where they were from, but it looks like there is a change for this year.

I called Busch Gardens and was told that anyone can buy the 2006 fun card.
Also on the Busch web site, under passport memberships anyone can access the fun cards and purchase them through international purchase.
I used the fun card 3 times at Busch this past December and was never asked for ID.

May I ask what year you had the fun card, because I have read that in the past they were only available for FL residents?

We've had the Gold pass for the parks for 3 years so the Fun card was for before the passes. Since you were using the Fun card in Dec. did it end on the 31st or is it good for a year from the date of purchase? Ours was only good until the 31st of December no matter when you bought it that year. Is your picture on the card or do you have to do the finger thing to get in the park without a driver's license to prove you are the person that purchased the card. Even with our gold passes you have to show proof of identity by either having picture on the pass(grandfathered in cause of old passes) or using the finger thing with the newer passes to make sure you are not sharing pass with others.
I wonder why they only offer the pass on the Florida residents Buy tickets page and then offer it on the passport page? If you can get the Fun Card , it is a good deal. I would call Sea world before purchasing it for that park, though if you are not a Florida resident. If you know you will be coming to Orlando more than 1 time in a year, the annual pass is even better because you get free parking, 10% off anything you buy, and 10% off meals.

We actually bought the 2006 fun cards mid December . We tried to buy the 2005 fun cards at this time but htey said they were no longer selling htem. I showed them an email from Busch saying we would be able to buy the 2005 fun cards mid December so they sold us the 2006 fun cards but activated them early for us.

Which is great, we used the 2006 fun cards three times Dec/05 and will use them again on our 12/06 vacation 2 or 3 times. What a great bargain.

They don't take a pic with the fun cards but you have to do the finger thing (like at Disney) each time you come to the park.

We loved Busch Gardens .

We are planning on going to Seaworld 2 or 3 times 12/06 so not sure what sort of tickets to buy. Perhaps the one day ticket (and then hope they still offer the second day free, within a week) or the fun card (if we want to go three times).
Any suggestions???

Thank you
Suzy V

With the luck you had this year in December, I would try again for the Fun Pass in December and hope they give you the 2007 so you get another year to come back. <g>

They have had the 2nd day free for so long I don't see them giving up on it. Getting in with a pass that is already paid for, lets us spend more in the parks when we go. When we go to BG we never eat anywhere but the Colony House restaurant and love the pampering we get at a theme park. I get another 5 days off next week so hopefully will be going to both parks if I can swing it. Classes started at UCF so not sure our son will be able to get us in with his pass at Disney, but might even play the tourist 3 days if he has enough time to meet us at the gate of Epcot or MGM.

Verified that they are not restricted to FL residents & was told they could be purchased at the gate. Has anyone NOT ordered them online & gotten them at the gate?

I just ordered 4 fun cards, I had purchased them back in 2000 or 2001, and they were great, they do show up in 2 places, FL residents only and then under regular passport membership, I printed everthing and do not expect a problem, we are going to FL in February, and will report back

We always get the funcards every year. In the past we have gone to Sea World a lot (not FL resident). What we would do is buy the Fun card for everyone except one child, then we would buy a silver season pass for one of the kids. This is so we wouldn't have to pay for parking everytime we went and we would get 10% of food, merchandise, and discount on feeding dolphins, stingrays ect.

Since we live just outside of Tampa, we buy the fun cards every year for both parks and they are just as advertised, no hidden surprises. A good deal, yes. Since we buy the Florida annual passes for Disney every year also, wish they were as good of a deal as Busch Gardens and Sea World.

We just got back to our villa from Sea World (saw Lee Ann Rimes :thumbsup2 ) too. We upgraded our 1 day ticket to a Fun Pass as we're heading back this November. We thought it was a great deal. :sunny:
Also saw Jack Hanna and he was fantastic!
